嘉义站

嘉义站很小，从阿里山下来后直达，可以直接乘坐台铁到高雄，很方便。周围环境不错，车次也很多，可以在自助购票机上购票（这个好像用的人不多，不用排队）

搭高铁来到嘉义，最怕回程怎么办？大多高铁都已经三铁共构，但是嘉义火车站的后站，为一个空间宽敞干净整齐转运功能强大的转运站，有高铁ｂｒｔ接驳车，以及各大客运的站点，服务人员也相当的贴心，指示的相当清楚

阿里山是扬名国际的观光旅游景点，日据时期与太平山、八仙山并称台湾三大林场，嘉义市为阿里山森林铁路起点，曾列为台湾四大都市之一。随着社会发展及经济结构之转变，政府已不再于阿里山伐木，遗留下近百年历史的北门驿、营林俱乐部、小火车修理工厂、林场宿舍及办公厅、制材厂、动力室等，已成为珍贵的林业文化资产。为延续保存珍贵林业史蹟，本计画将利用制材厂、动力室、林场宿舍、贮木池等区域，面积约13.76公顷（阿里山林业村）及历史建筑群暨所属营林俱乐部周边区域等，面积约3.15公顷（桧意森活村），以现有建物整修再利用，整合营造成为一处林业文化艺术新据点。

Big new station, with two balconies from which there are some of the best views to the surrounding mountains in Alishan. I liked photos about old railway and trains and also the train cars on the rails.

I liked how this station is central to most everything with the free shuttle to the high speed rail just at the rear exit. Bus stations are just a short walk out front. Luggage can also be left at the station for NT$50 per piece while one can go by foot to the night market and shopping area adjacent to the station.What I don't like is the proliferation of touts. There is a visitor's center with helpful staff right at the station so be sure to consult here before dealing with the touts, if you absolutely must.The coffee shop outside the station on the way to the bus stop provides cheap great coffee and tea with free wifi and friendly service.

The station is an attraction itself. It's big, spacious and very tourist friendly with all the clear directions and markings. There's also English speaking guide at the information centre.

i was here to take BRT to chiayi HSR station. the signage wasn't that clear and you have to ask staff that work there. elevator are available but few steps of stairs still available and you might need to carry up your luggage to walk through.

They have tourist information centre, many restaurant and shop nearby and they also provide shuttle bus to Chiayi High Speed Rail Station

Large multi-level building for elevated high-speed train. Electronic signage state-of-the-art. A few shops and food venues.

Its a little bit far from city centry, but its convenient and not to many people inside the railway station.

I'm referring to Chiayi Station of Taiwan Rail (not HSR). It was hot inside despite the presence of several air-conditioners in front of rows of seats for waiting passengers. The big board of (over-head) time schedule for trains & fares was pretty hard to decypher, but the man at the ticket booth was very polite and helpful. As we just got off the bus from Alishan, without knowing that the next express train for Taipei would arrive in about 40 minutes, we managed to purchase the tickets (NTD600 Chiayi to Taipei, NTD480 cheaper than HSR), queued up for the cup noodles combo special serving by 7-Eleven inside the station, and boarded the train in time. A great experience:-)

It only has 4 stores at the station. 7-11, Mos Burger, Starbucks, Relay. it isnt a good location built for waiting. you can only wait at the Starbucks coffee place or have lunch at Mos Burger. it is located half an hour from the city center. a free bus plys the area to bring people to ChiaYi TRA station

Bigger than the train station in Taipei, clean & tidy. staff are helpful
