The carvings/friezes have such wonderful detail. It was nice to see and walk closely to a virtually intact structure of this sort...one can only imagine the grandeur of the Temple of Olympian Zeus or the Parthenon if they were still intact. The surrounding foliage adds to the delightful experience of discovering ancient Greece.

This temple is visible from the Acropolis, but must be visited as there is so much more to see close up. The whole park gives a good idea of the ancient city of Athens. Then backing this impression up is the reconstruction of the ancient city. Get there early in the day as it closes very (too) early at 15:00

The temple is in the same grounds as the Ancient Agora and this was an absolute highlight. Don't think that because you've visited the Parthenon there's no point in visiting another ancient temple. Even though the scale is much smaller, the atmosphere is completely different (many less tourists and set in beautiful park-like surroundings) and the temple itself is better preserved. It's one of the 7 historical sites covered by the same €12 ticket, all with dual Greek/English information boards helpfully scattered around. It's also just off the many, many restaurants of Monastiraki if you get hungry and with the Metro in easy reach for transport. Well worth the visit.

It is a well preserved temple, quite picturesque. Something that you should make time to see. Although you can't enter the temple, you can walk around it and see how well it was made.

Great place to amble through. Fascinating with lovely views over Athens. Fabulous place to get a feel of how Athens was, and the Temple is amazing too, the fact it's still standing is amazing

The Greek agora is great for all types of visitor there are the remains of buildings, the reconstructed of an a building and then the complete temple of hephaestus which is remarkable. It allows you to imagine the grandeur of the rest of the site. Nestled among the modern city at the side of the acropolis I had a lovely time exploring the area. Good value as part of the €12 ticket for the main ancient sites of the city.

One of the best-preserved doric temples in all Greece. As you climb the hill in the Agora you see it rising up out of the trees. Truly beautiful. You can even still see some of the sculptures of the frieze.

The area involves walking a lot, and most people would just be happy visiting the Parthenon, but the temple of Hephaestus might be worth it only because it is much better preserved than most others.

This was one of the most striking of the ancient sites. From the hillside above it looks almost like a new building; it is so pristine and well maintained. The entire gounds of Agora and the temple are refreshing after visitng the Acropolis as they are less crowded and you can really appreciate the beutfy of the place.
