This memorial depicts the model of the Frigate INS khukri ehich played an important role in the Indo- Pak war 1971. It is the symbol of unyielding and indomitable courage glorifying the highest traditions of the Indian Navy. A salute to the Martyrs.

The Kukri Memorial has a scaled down model of the old INS Kukri which had sunk off Diu and with it the Captain of the ship Capt Mulla.

INS Khukhri Memorial is a memorial for the Naval Officers and Sailors who lost their lives on INS Khukhri, which is the only Indian Naval Ship which India has lost in a battle. Place is worth a visit as the views of Arabian Sea from here are very good at Sunset and the model of INS Khukhri is also a state of art for all those who love historical landmarks. There is a old Portuguese amphitheater just besided this memorial where you can sit and enjoy the sun setting into Arabian Sea.This memorial is A Salute To Those Who Died For Nation...!!!

A quiet memorial on top of a tiny hill - say about 50-60 steps up. It has a super amphitheatre which i don't know why is not being used for cultural activities in a tourist place. nevertheless, read the story about the Khukri with names of people who sank with it.

As far as the memorial is considered there is not much to see there, but the scaled down model of INS Khukri warship which went down gallantly along with the crew during the 1971 war with Pak, when it got hit by torpedoes fired at it. Names of the members of the crew is engraved on the marble stone along with its history.Climb up further and you reach the sunrise and sunset points. Good for shutterbugs.

INS Khukery was sunk near the Diu coast in 1971 war with Pakistan & is the only Indian ship to be sunk in any kind of war. The government has made a memorial in Diu to let people know about the tragedy & lost lives. It has a small scale replica of the ship & the torpedo which sank it. Nice place to visit for people interested in history & military.

lovely sunset point. i can sit there and spend hours together looking at the beach and the boats that sail through.

the adjacent beach is dirty . the memorial itself is nice .you can walk around and take a long sunset break here . come early to watch the sunset
