The place and horses were well maintained. It's location is good because it's not very far from the main road. It is surrounded by mountains and trees making the place very peaceful. The horses were healthy and not smelly. They provide helmets for the riders. The guides were accommodating. They even brought grass so that my children can help feed the horses and showed my kids the horse shoes. A good activity for kids ü

we had a lovely day at el Kabayo. The manager explained that a couple of years ago the horses were not in a good state, so wildlifeinneed.org took over to sort things out. The horses look very happy and healthy. We are a family with 3 children aged 5,7 and 8, and we were able to all have a horse ride to the waterfall. It was lovely and a good length of ride for beginner riders. Definitely recommend! The waterfall ride is 770 php and goes for around an hour. After out ride we bough a cold drink and sat in the shade to relax, such a tranquil environment!

I've visited El Kabayo three times and each visit has been wonderful and equally satisfying. I absolutely love the place, it's serene and relaxing. It has a beautiful 360 degrees backdrop trees. The open wide space is perfect for riding or just kicking your shoes off to relax. The staff is great, they are friendly and helpful. The horses are in great condition, and El Kabayo will provide with the horse that will fit you. After two classes and one trip to waterfalls, I've become confident in riding horses, far from how I was on day one: scared, unsure, and impatient to get off the horse. Today, I can't wait to go back and gallop across their training field again. It's one of the places in Subic I definitely will visit again.Note: I prefer riding in the morning, the breeze is cool and the sun isn't scorching yet. Avoid wearing shorts as the friction with the saddle might cause a bruise, preferably wear jeans. Opt for jeans and leather boots that go below your knee.

We had a one hour horse ride. Cost 700 per person with one guide per horse. The horses were big, clean and well fed. There is a waterfall at the end of the trail. There were 4 of us and we enjoyed our ride. Be careful not to stay at the back of the horses they have a tendency to kick. My horse's name is Apec,he accidentally kicked one of the guides.

Got to ride an equestrian horse which is tall, though probably old to retire from the sport. They had 22 horses for rent and we paid 375 for a 30 minute ride.My 2 year old even rode by herself since they only had 2 double seater sadles which were out. Had to hold her at the side of the horse since she was still too young and might fall.We took turns riding the horses withinn the 30 minute time allotted. Their sadles had no handle at the front since they told us it was not practical to have Western style saddles since the horses were formerly equestrian horses.Helpers were directing the horses while holding the ropes, so I think it is quite safe though I had to balance and realize I had to bounce with the horse to enjoy the ride. Will take the 1 hour trail to the falls the next time!Better ride the horse early morning or around 4 pm to avoid the hot sun.

My fiancee and I really enjoyed getting a riding lesson at El Kabayo Riding Stables (not to be confused with El Kabayo Equestrian Center in Clarke, near Angeles, Pampanga). The staff was friendly and the quarter horses were too. They teach English (equestrian) riding, not Western. They have several packages available (to a waterfall, forest trails, etc), and if you have no experience, they'll send guides with you to take care of everything. We opted for a lesson. Once we each have ten hours of lessons we'll get a certification from them that allows us to take the horses out on their trails unsupervised.During the summer I recommend going early in the morning before it gets really hot. We had our lesson at 3pm and we were baking. Next time we'll come when they open at 7:30am. There are cold drinks available for purchase. They may have food too but I didn't check. The stables are located not far from the entrance to SBMA (the old Navy Base).
