Clean, friendly workers, safe, quiet. Walkway out into the water needs a lot of work. Beautiful views

What an incredible part of the world! Soft, talcum powder soft sand. Blue, blue water with sandbars that stretch out forever. A reef for snorkling within a 1/2 hour boat ride.Play Pilar beach is amazing.

Nothing to do but relax, eat, sleep, dance and what ever else you have in mind. Its a really nice Island, just about a dozen resorts and not much else.

Great choice for a holiday, although there is not much to do but the beach and nature walks along the shore. Watch out for insects though, especially if you are sensitive or allergic to bites. And you can have very cool weather in the winter months.

Liked fine white sand and turquoise ocean.Get on the Hop on-Hop off bus (5 pesos) and get off at Pilar beach. This is a real jewell of the entire area.

We stayed at Sol Cayo Guillermo Feb 4 - 14. Ten beautiful enjoyable and relaxing days with family and friends, 15 in total, including 3 infants, 1.5 to 3.5 yrs.Our daughter Tracy L, from Thunder Bay, ON captured all off our sentiments so no need to repeat. I'll add a few names that also require mention because of their exceptional service. Adianez our sweet waitress in the buffet was terrific all week. Nyrveys (sp) in the pool bar kept us well watered. Mary and Dianet, students who worked in both the pool bar and buffet were very efficient, professional, caring and sweet. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. A real credit to the service industry and Cuban people in general. The only issue I found was the poor markings on the many floor elevation changes particularly around the pool and lobby approaches. Not much can be done to change the design but more visible, perhaps fluorescent paints or lighting could be installed. My 1st night there involved 3 or 4 near misses for twisted ankles and my daughter sprained her ankle as a result of a fall on one of theses edges. All in all a great vacation. Thanks Nelido, Jose and everyone who helped make this a trip to remember. We'll be back.

rooms good clean and large, beds comfy. Food a bit repetitive but ok. Staff work hard and are very helpful

It was a very pretty place, but I was disappointed that I couldn't swim in the ankle-deep water. Watching the kite boarders was amusing.

Stunning beach. From a quaint little pier where you can see fish and pelicans, to watersports. Quite narrow but once the tide goes out its picture perfect of white sand, turquoise water, plenty of room to find your own quiet spot. Definitely one of the best I've visited in the world.

Was lots of fun. Lots of interaction with the dolphins. One dolphin nipped my toe. Did not break skin, but still hurt and surprised me.

Nice area to vacation, not as good as Cayo Coco though. Beaches had a lot of seaweed on them. The entire week it was only cleaned once and not very good. It was safe to walk the beach and roads though.

Beautiful beach! Blue water. Warm sand. Perfect for R&R. This is the perfect location to relax in the sun although there isn't much to see and explore outside of the resorts themselves.

My boyfriend and I went from Sat Jan 17 thru Sat Jan 31.We had a wonderful time of course and wouldn't have it any other way. Some serious issues must be addressed, with apologies to the lovely local staff:CanJet sells flight packages that get us in three hours too early to check into the rooms. No advanced warning that the rooms wouldn't be nearly ready. The front desk staff act like this has never happened before and have no idea how to handle. They shooed us away and pointed us toward the all inclusive bar. Good point. It was pouring down and the main lobby's marble floor surfaces had my guy slip and fall and cut himself on the wet glass covered floor. The place is a law suit waiting to happen when it rains and in general.Exposed nails, loose boards everywhere on the dock. Things break and stay broken. No upkeep, no love.Lobby bathrooms are gross. You can see the tops of people's heads when you walk in, they are often plugged to the max and don't flush if you put toilet paper in them. Though the lovely ladies do their best to keep them clean, there was never anything to dry your hands with and often ran out of toilet paper. Our room toilet was plugged when we finally got our room. Was fixed eventually, but replaced by a leaking bidet that was fixed without our having to mention.TV cable of three fuzz channels went out twice as well. Confusion with the front desk saying someone will come to fix it, then it just being reset remotely. Tons of communication problems with language and cultural issues, naturally, but frustrating with no customer service skills to smooth over the gaps.Tiny ants in our sea side bungalow...not a huge problem, but we didn't know if they were bitey or licey but made us worry if they were in the closets our suitscases our beds. Yes we both got bit by sand fleas from the knees down, but it didn't hurt or itch, miraculously.Line ups for most meals, just because there are dirty unbussed, unset up tables. In bad need of a new efficient system and a manager that cares. Food in resort is really challenging. Now I know why people were seen with their own food i.e. peanut butter and cereal. We adapted quite quickly, but just a head's up.Front Desk Staff: Going through the motions, act like every problem has never happened before, will argue with you like you are crazy, "the customer is always wrong" are defensive and need to be replaced with Customer Service Agents of the highest order. I know this is Cuba folks and I understand that. They ran out of CDN dollars for over two days though they had a full house. We had beach towels stolen off our front porch and had to involve our CanJet Rep Lia, who was ineffective at best. No one cares and we won the case of the missing towels by telling them they need to change their system and refusing to pay.The resort has gone through a badly handled name change from COJIMAR to the 5 different names we saw written all over the signage in the resort. Out of date signage, guide books, and all of the reference charts they give you are no longer relevant. Even the local cab and bus drivers didn't know the new name. And please CANJET stop selling this like it's Cayo Coco. There's nothing wrong with Cayo Guillermo, but it's not Cayo Coco. Why go? We got a good deal for 14 days. The bungalow was super cool and steps from the beautiful beaches, though the beach was shallow.Do the catamaran excursion with snorkelling and lobster lunch.Do the Moron Trip excursion to see where the great resort workers get bused in from.Go to rest, exercise, swim, take the aquabics class, stretch class and beach volley ball with DeeDee.See the Michael Jackson Show on Monday night! Loved it!Walk toward the resort beside look for the beach front sign that says Cuba Libre and treat yourself to a lobster lunch where you are encouraged to use nature as your toilet out back!Great place great lobster lunch for two $40 with two beers each. There's lots more to share and so please be in touch if you need more info. Our intent here is to share, not hurt or be insulting.Have a great weekend!
