Riding at Hacienda Carabali was a highlight of my recent vacation in Puerto Rico.I had never ridden on Paso Fino before .What a comfortable ride! Robert ,our guide , was outstanding.2 hours wasn't long enough. All the people at the Ranch were exceptionally nice.

we went out horseback riding for two hours and we learnt a lot. Fernando and Eric our guides were fun and knowledgable. They showed us special leaves, almonds, and paint made from rocks. It was an amusing trip that my family all had fun at. This trip is strongly recommended

We went horseback riding and had a drink at the bar after. The tour guide, Louis was great! The staff was nice and the trail we took the horses on was pretty.

Wow! We did the horseback riding tour on the beach to celebrate my son's birthday. It was fantastic! First of all the staff is very courteous and helpful. After a brief lesson on the do's and don'ts for the horses we were off. The horses are well trained which made this even better. We rode through the rainforest, through the Rio Mameyes and on the beach Playa Fortuna. The views were spectacular and breath taking. We stopped on the beach for 45 min to enjoy the local food and relax. This tour was so worth it. Our guides Juan and Eduardo deserve a special shout for being so attentive and fun. Thank you guys.

My friend and I visited PR for two weeks. Our favorite thing was camping on Flamenco Beach for the first week and to be honest after that returning to the main island nothing really compared. That is until we went horseback riding at Carabali!!! Due to our lack of funds we opted for the one hour tour and I'm so glad we did! When we arrived a large 2 hour group was just leaving and once they were gone we were informed that our tour was going to start and it was just us! Our guide LUIS was incredible!! We were both a little nervous (I hadn't ridden a horse in years and it was my friends first time) but it was obvious he knew what he was doing and kept us safe and entertained during the tour. If you go I suggest asking for Luis he's laid back and can tell you all about the surrounding are during the ride. Also, we we're nervous and forgot our cameras in the car (BRING YOUR CAMERAS) but Luis was nice enough to suggest taking pictures for us and sending them to us on WhatsApp. SO happy he did because now we have documentation. The horses are GORGEOUS, friendly, and clean. My only caution is if you have a small butt be aware that saddle sores are real!

My husband and I had a delightful ride with Fernando. He was fabulous. He took time to explain everything to us and was sensitive to our comfort level. Our only regret was tucking so little money in our pocket for a tip! Thanks Fernando. You are THE BEST

I was with a party of six and we booked a last-minute 2-hour ATV tour. The location was beautiful, seeing all the horses was a plus for this city girl. Particularly when a whole bunch of them trotted past us and nearly scared us to death (it was us, not them).Anyway, we got there on time but had to wait a while to get started. We were in no rush and actually got some drinks, used the bathroom etc. I was concerned that the tour might be lame. That because we were guided we would go really slow and measured. Our overall group was broken into smaller groups and it worked out that my party of 6 got their own guide. The guide was great, he knew what he was doing, he knew how to get things going quickly, giving us enough time to get comfortable without us getting bored. The first third of the ride, most of us were getting a feel for things, then we made a stop for a brief photo-op. By that time most of us were getting comfortable and we started picking up speed and having fun with it. Then we got to the river, which was nice. The guide let us have our fun, but we also had some fun moment with him as he used the rope swing to do some cool trips. They used laval rock to paint us, which I thought was so cool. At this point we were all very comfortable with our ATVs. The third leg was crazy! It was a couples trip and all the husbands were in the back trailing behind so they could then speed up and be ridiculous. Whenever they stayed too far behind, the guide stopped and waited, but never chastised them. We appreciated that because we wanted to get dirty. So my friend who was the least adventurous was upfront and the rest of us gave each other room to splash and speed over bumps, etc. By the end we were drenched in mud (you can avoid that if you are not looking for it, though you will get a little dirty) and we were thrilled. We tipped the guy well for giving us the latitude to have some fun. After that we cleaned up a bit and went to their restaurant, a very pleasant surprise. I am Puerto Rican (as is another person in my party who agreed) so we know PR food. I expected this to be a typical touristy place, but the tostones were so good as well as the chicharrone and the mofongo. Drinks were on the weak side but delish. Our server was so nice. The whole experience was great and I would definitely recommend this place in an instant!

we did this as a shore excursion from a celebrity cruise and enjoyed it. the bus ride to the rainforest where you ride takes about 45 minutes but does allow you to see some of the island, albiet from a more major road mostly. the stables is nice and has all that is needed

We went during a recent trip to Puerto Rico, it's was a large group so we had to wait to get the ATV tour done, did the one hour tour and it was lots of fun. Our tour guide Gregory was awesome. My wife got her finger cut on some rocks and he was prepared and attended to her injury. I strongly recommend doing the ATV tour.

The ATV tour at Hacienda Carabali is a 'must do' activity for all ages. You can stay clean or get as dirty as you want. I like it dirty so I tried to find every mud puddle I could to ride through. At the end of the tour I was covered in mud from top to bottom! I even had mud in my mouth!! I had so much fun it made me feel like a kid again. I've done both the 1 hour and 2 hour tours. On the 2 hour tour you stop at a stream for about 25 minutes which was a waste for me because I just wanted to ride. The tour guides make it fun so PLEASE tip them!!!!! Try to go during the week when there aren't as many people. I find the guides have a little more flexibility with where you go if the group is small. Don't forget your driver's license if you want to drive. A friend forgot hers and she had to ride on the back of mine although she still had a blast because she likes to get dirty too. I go to Puerto Rico every year and can't wait to go ATVing at Hacienda Carabali when I get there. Sometimes I go twice!!

This was the highlight of our vacation. We did the ATV ride and it was an amazing experience. They say that the 1hr tour is first come first serve but since the 2hrs tour is by reservation, you might have to wait a bit until you can ride. The wait is worth it, Trust me. The views that u get are really beautiful. Our tour guide was Gregory and he took his time with us. Gregory was a great tour guide. You have to go to Carabali while you are in the island.

The girls were desperate to go horseback riding in the rainforest. After a really awful experience in Texas riding 3 years ago I was willing but not excited; what parents will do for their kids....We arrived a bit late due to a mix up in our transportation by Dragonfly Adventures. We were given little hair covers and helmets to wear. We were then told how the horses were trained to ride and what to expect from their behavior (some prefer to be up to the front, others in the middle and some in the back). After this were divided by different tour groups (1 hour, 2 hour and beach riders). They then divided each group by experienced riders and relative beginners. The girls and I went to relative beginners and I told them I had a bad experience the last time I rode. I think they could see how nervous I was. My youngest was put on a horse, and then they took me out of turn to go on the next horse. When put on the horses we were told that the horse would go to a spot by some trees and stop. My horse went up to the trees and started scratching his head and moving up further. It then got very close to my daughter and her horse at which point I got a bit nervous. My girls asked me if I was ok and I started to cry. Luis immediately saw I was upset and came over and took me and my horse off to the side and calmed me down. Then Willie took the lead and said my horse was to follow behind his as that is where my horse liked to be. Once we got moving I started feeling much better and Willie and Luis were frequently checking on me to make sure I felt ok. We had a group of 7 riders plus Willie and Luis. Willie led and Luis went up and down the line making sure all were doing well. He took pictures with people's cell phones and was pleasantly social. We rode around the base of the rainforest and enjoyed the beauty of the forest. We stopped at one point to take a break and enjoy the sound of the river. It was raining so the kids didn't want to swim but Willie went and got some mineral rocks for the girls to paint the parents. They had a great time doing that. After a short break we got back on and resumed our ride. We got back soaked, having had a ton of fun. When we go back, we will ride again. I honestly can say I will likely not ride a horse anywhere else as apparently I do have a bit of stress related to that one bad incident, but I feel totally comfortable with this group. I will not opt for the beach ride as apparently at some point in the ride you do have to cross a river, so that won't happen for me. We did thoroughly enjoy the day and consider a highlight of the trip.Note: for those of you with young children they do accommodate you. We saw a child aged 2 on a ride. She was strapped in and was at the back of the one hour group. The guide in the back of that group held her reigns and she looked as happy as she could be. Her 4 year old sister was in front of her. Go here and have fun. We loved Willie and Luis, but honestly I think the whole staff seemed very engaging and caring.
