I go to Riverside Park regularly with my grandchildren and laso just myself for a nice walk in the park. In the nice weather there is almost always something going on for families to have fun. It is also a great place to meet people as many people walk the park on a daily basis. Have had many a good time here.

An enjoyable retreat in the middle of the city. Take a walk. Sit and watch the river go by. Have a picnic. Meet friends for an outdoor game of Scrabble. Take your kids for a ride on the carousel or the train and don't forget to buy an ice cream. Watch your children enjoy the playground. Make sure to visit the festivities on Canada Day and never miss the Christmas light display in December and January. There is plenty of parking and there are ample picnic tables and other benches.

Lots of space. Lots of parking. Walking, jogging, snacks, picnics. A great carousel and kid's train in the warm season. Bandshell with concerts, in season.

Riverside Park links in with a trial system that follows the Speed River to Guelph Lake. The park itself, has the Speed River running through the middle of it. There is a small suspension-type bridge that allows access to both sides from the middle of the park. Just off Gordon St. there is a floral clock; this is the area that they usually have a Christmas lights display each year. The park also hosts fireworks displays on Canada Day.

Still working mini train and full sized carousel along with numerous City events like Ribfest and Multicultural festival, classic cat shows, fireworks (even in winter). The grounds are child friendly with play grounds and lovely gardens by the river. A great place to spend the day if you can't get out of town.

We often visit the Riverside in the summer for their terrific Ice cream. so, if you want a nice spring, summer or fall walk on the river to enjoy your ice cream, hit the Riverside, next time in Guelph.

Huge park with fantastic hiking and cycling trails. Large picnic areas and lovely spots and bridges over the river. Nice board walk to check out and let your kids feed the birds...

Riverside park is where all of the big Guelph attractions happen. It has great walking trails, the Speed river runs through it. For the kids a large playground is conveniently located near a carousel and gas powered train ride that is open through the summer. There are two large picnic shelters that can be rented or are first come first serve for large groups. Smaller picnic areas are located throughout the park. There is lots of parking and the playground is wheelchair accessible. A band shelter is located in the north side of the park for outdoor concerts and events throughout the year. Overall it's a great place for fun and relaxation.

Love the carousel, the train, the paddle boats, the playground and the bridge over the river - especially for the younger set.

Love visiting this park anytime of year! Lots of special events like Canada Day, Festival of Lights, Ribfest...beautiful park to have a picnic or barbecue beside the river and waterfall. Lots to do for families with the carousel, paddle boats, and train rides in summer...

My best friend and I recently had the pleasure of going to Guelph to celebrate my 50th birthday and because I am a carousel affectionado it was only logical that this year we check out Riverside Park. The 1919 Allan Herschell carousel is nestled in a peaceful community where it is lovingly maintained and operated by friendly staff. We were delighted to be able to buy season passes at a reasonable rate so we could ride the carousel, and the train, as many times as we wished throughout the duration of our stay. I would have preferred traditional band organ music over recorded Disney soundtracks but other than that we had an amazing time and everything was perfect. The carousel offers a fast, smooth ride and is a delight for all ages!

I love riverside park! great place to wonder around. Great place to take children. It's a shame cities don't put in these mega parks anymore

Great park-lots to do. Christmas lights in the winter, Canada Day, Multicultural festival are all must see events. If travelling with children, visit City Hall BEFORE visiting! You can pick up a season's pass for the carousel and train that gives your kid unlimited access for the season. It pays for itself in about two visits, but cannot be bought at the park itself. Drawbacks- goose poo everywhere. Wear ugly shoes. Also, bathrooms are super gross, but it's a free public park, so fair enough. Go before you leave the house.

I just love going to Riverside Park, especially the clock tower gardens. You can pay $30 for the Buchart Gardens in Victoria, but this is mini version of the gardens and it is free. The students working thru the summer change the flowers regularly. It is must see for tourists and residents. The rest of the park has lots of things to do for your children, from playing in the playground to watching the ducks and geese on the river. Lots of festivals and concerts are held on this park during the summer months. We are so lucky in Guelph to have such a lovey park.
