The Snug Falls walk is an easy walk, perfect for families, but as others have said, its not suitable for prams, and as in all bushwalks, hiking shoes or other sensible footwear is advisable. The track is 2klms and takes about 1hr return, but we usually pack a picnic lunch and our bathers in summer, and stay for a few hours. Can be busy-ish on hot weekends, and of course the falls are a lot more impressive after periods of rain.

On a recent drive around the Channel highway coastline , we stopped for lunch at Spectrum for 'just' a pizza but oh what a pizza. It was one of the best I have ever had. The clean and quiet restaurant was friendly, cosy and offered organic coffee and cake as well as a decent selection of meals with some lovely Tassie grown wines. I also enjoyed the banter with the chef who came out to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Top points in my book and if I were a local then I would be frequenting this restaurant on a regular basis.

These falls are worth a look, but beware the official rating of this as an "Easy" walk! The path is steep and most of the way involves clambering over a network of tree roots and stones. 45 minutes no- try double that including a 10 minute stop at the falls.Parents with small children note the path is not suitable for pushers and toddlers will need to be carried! (We passed 1 abandoned pusher- the parents had given up and we met them on the way back, toddler under the arm). Not suitable for people with limited mobility even though it is not a long walk.

This is a great little walk thats not too far from the city. Takes a bit of finding but the walk in is reasonably easy (not suitable for prams). The track is in reasonable shape for the most part and the falls are very pretty and a reasonable size so you can walk around the rocks etc at the bottom to get different views. Nice spot to stop for lunch (take warm clothes though). Well worth a visit.

This is a nice short walk that takes a good hour return from the carpark to the falls. The carpark is located a short distance from the beginning of the trail. It is a clear path for most of the way with a steady descent. The falls themselves would look great after rain but we saw them in late spring and there was only a trickle flowing over the edge. A nice short visit from Hobart.

nearly gave up the walk, not 45 min return, took 75 min for us two in late 50's. Not as good as a lot of others we have seen.

Nice little walk, not for anyone unsteady on their feet. Disappointing finish - no rain, therefore no real waterfall.

Hidden up in the hills of Snug, is Snug Falls. It is worth the drive to visit if you have time. The walk itself is an easy grade walk taking you to the classic Snug Falls just 2.1km each way, 45 - 60 minutes return. The track descends gently down to the falls and is initially firm gravel with some exposed rocks and roots. Further down, the track can be a little slippery underfoot when wet. The falls are particularly spectacular after rain. There is no drinking water available on the walk so be sure to take some

Gave up after 20 min track has been washed away. Very steep in sections and slippery. Got down to bottom where creek is tried to follow path back up other side to falls to muddy to track. Turn around went back to dangerous without hiking boot.
