You paddle, or just drift, down the creek. You can stop on the small sandbanks and eat your snacks and have a swim. Use the ropes tied to the trees to swing into the water. When you reach the end point, you just give the owner a call and he picks you up and brings you back to your car. The owner is friendly and its uncomplicated to book. Waterproof bags and boxes are provided.

We had a wonderful morning kayaking thanks to Gary at Babinda Kayak Hire - who welcomed us warmly and provided a friendly and relaxed experience. We thoroughly enjoyed drifting and paddling, stopping to swim and unwind along the 9km journey downstream - a very peaceful start to our weekend. The only recommendation we would have is to go after it has rained a bit and the creek is fuller. We often 'bottomed' out and had to get out to drag our kayaks through the very shallow areas of the river or over fallen trees. All in all, a wonderful day though and we will be back to try it out when there's been some rain, and perhaps a few rapids. ( we went in January 2015)

Wow what a beautiful experience this was! Gary was extremely friendly and professional, and worked hard to convince our 7 year old daughter she should share a kayak instead of having her own (which she wanted). As the current was a bit faster due to the rains, he didn't feel it was safe for her to have her own kayak and he handled her perfectly. There is not much paddling required, you drift along the creek in the current and enjoy the clear water and the gorgeous countryside. Not strenuous at all, and well worth doing for any age. Highly recommended, a must do when in the Cairns area.

We had such an amazing time kayaking down this beautiful creek. I was in ore of the location and the amazing clarity of the water. I came home and showed my nature loving Dad the photos and he was extremely jealous... we will definitely be returning in the future.

This is the second time we have had the joy of paddling Babinda Creek in the Big G's kayak's, and it did not disappoint. This is a magic spot, and a great way to spend time as a family. Our kids had progressed to individual kayaks, and they loved the sense of achievement in having mastered it for themselves. Great fun together outdoors, great laughs, amazing scenery, and water so clear and gorgeous we could see the fish underneath us. We will be back again.

My wife and recently went on an afternoon kayak adventure down the stunning crystal waters of Babinda Creek. We hired a double Kayak and waterproof container for our mobile phone, plus an additional one for our small camera. Very handy to keep both these devices secure and dry. You can also hire waterproof bags if you want so that you can take your towel or a light picnic with you as well. The Kayaks are very modern with plenty of space and very easy to use. Great trip for beginners or people with advanced Kayaking skills. The creek was calm; gently flowing (less paddling) with heaps of opportunities to jump out and have a swim to cool off. Loads of sand banks to pull up to and have a rest or that picnic.(Highly recommend this) This adventure is great to take your time and soak up the shear beauty of the scenery and wildlife you encounter along the way. Don’t rush, its not a race and you’ll have one of the best experiences while you are here in beautiful North Queensland and this advise is coming from a LOCAL!!Thanks so very much Gary for the excellent experience and I highly recommend this trip to everyone. 5 stars all the way!!!

With the elegance of a baby hippo and the grace of a drunken giraffe, (and to be fair, not exactly being what you'd call 'petite') I wasn't expecting to be overly good at kayaking. Having now done the afternoon tour, and spent about three hours on the water, I can honestly say, if anybody out there is worried or holding off from doing this tour for any of those reasons, don't be! It is incredibly easy! You will have an absolute blast. The water's beautiful and clear, with none of FNQ's bitey/stingy water-life in it, and the kayaks are easy to paddle, even for a first timer. Be aware you will get wet - but really, that's half the fun!

I was recommended Babinda kayak hire by some work colleagues, and so glad they did. We had a fantastic day. We were met by Gary the owner/host. It turned out I hadn't submitted my booking right as he wasn't sure when I was arriving for either the morning or afternoon, but this wasn't a problem to him at all, Gary was fantastic. What a great afternoon we had spent slowly making our way down Babinda creek, taking in the beautiful scenery and stopping every now and then for a swim in the crystal clear waters. We have two teenage children and they loved it. I highly recommend you give this a go if you are in FNQ. We will definitely be doing this again. Thanks Gary.

We came back to do our Kayak trip again. Loved it more the second time. Our 10 year old boy had his own kayak this time. I had one for myself so no body rocking my boat. A wonderful meditative day out in FNQ Babinda Creek. Must do this trip again and again, O and they have this really cool phone number 1800MUSTDO, Try it out! You don't have to be super fit or a good swimmer. Highly recommend.

This is truly an amazing place!! One of the rare natural beauties of the world that exceeds your expectations well and truly! Babinda Kayak's starts with friendly hospitality, quick and easy induction and a nice warm coffee then continues to the real treat of transparent crystal clear waters through the most amazing landscape imaginable. Go at your own pace as you are in the front row to see a vast range of fish species, platypus, turtles, birds and a magnificant change in the land around you.. Thanks guys. My wife and I enjoyed very much... we'll be back!

I recently visited Babinda Kayak Hire on a trip to Port Douglas. I was hesitant at first whether I would enjoy the Kayaking due to a few back issues I have had in the past. I was completely wrong however and loved every minute of it. It was a very gentle Kayak downstream suitable for all fitness levels. The scenery was just spectacular which I'm sure was only helped by the perfect weather we had for it. It was great being self guided which let us go at our own pace and stop off at a few spots for a swim. Would definitely recommend this to anyone on a Northern Queensland Trip!

Went from NSW to Cairns for the purpose of doing Kayaking up and around Cairns area. Travelled to Babinda Kayak after reading about it. So glad we did. Amazing scenery, clear water and a beautiful peaceful location. Great friendly Host and nothing to much trouble. All safety equipment supplied along with Lock Boxes and waterproof bags. Excellent customer service and recommend this trip to others as we could not fault this trip at all. Awesome!

We discovered Babinda Kayak Hire after browsing through the usual tourist-y leaflets. Although we were staying in Trinity Beach, we drove the 80 minutes south to hire a kayak and spent 3 hours drifting downstream in the most peaceful location. The fish, birds and butterflies were amazing, nature as it should be.Gary is a great host, and very easy to get on with. We hired a double kayak for $95.00 which was great value for money. We would certainly recommend this attraction to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle. Thanks Gary, we loved it!!
