An Extremely Peaceful Location, Bliss. We Came To Celebrate The Lunar New Year. Last time we visited the Stupa was only a frame it is now looking Beautiful and will be a place of peace and healing for all who venture here on their travels.

The building of the grand stupa is a truly incredible undertaking. We have watched over the years as it has grown on this peaceful site. I recently took some visiting friends out to the Stupa and they were impressed that a stupa of this size was in the middle of Victoria. Spinning the prayer wheels, walking through the developing garden and viewing sacred Buddhist relics easily fills in an hour. A beautiful space to quietly contemplate the blessings and challenges of life.

A beautiful peaceful place. Volunteers explain to you about the site. Lovely garden. The building itself is very impressive, it is still under construction but you can see inside it and the beautiful statues inside. Back in the main building there is a display, video & information about Buddhist.Tea & coffee is also available. Set in lovely surroundings. The Jade Buddha is travelling around the world before it comes to stay in the Great Stupa which gives other people a chance to see it. You could spend quite awhile there as there is no hurry

My hubby and I were amazed at the size of this building. However it didn't create a sense of largness but peaceful. In the perfect spot. Would love to see inside if we had the time. Was a really hot day.

Lovely place. Very quiet and interesting. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Stupa will look amazing once it is finished.

i first visited the stupa in summer 2000-it was a flattened round surface with holes all around it-some with sad little saplings-one of my jobs was to water these...easter 2014 my daughter, grandchildren and i were totally blown out by the dedicated progress-the hosts were lovely and helpful-the trees sublime and the stupa at that stage breathtaking...the children aged seven and nine(3rd gen buddhist) were absorbed for the three hours and especially fascinated with the precious relics...even more auspicious/canny? the other visitors we met there live about 5ks away from us-in jervis bay-we had not met them before-it is a magical place and mr and mrs green are certainly magical people-i plan to visit again this year-karma willing-'see you in the sky dear'...

This stupa is a complete rip offThere is no jade BuddhaIt is far from finishedAnd the "Buddhist Couple" who run it have no appreciation of anything in Buddhas teaching

We were lucky enough to go here on one of the 2 yearly celebration days.We were really surprised to see how large the temple is and when the gardens are completed it will be truly beautiful and I should imagine very peaceful

When visiting Bendigo its well worth visiting this amazing structure. As other reviewers have mentioned it is under construction but still very impressive. It will be a beautiful sight when finished.

Dear Stephen,Thank you for your visit to The Great Stupa and your feedback. As you area aware The Great Stupa is an ongoing development. Our well established exhibition area is home for lots of Buddhist relics, artwork and a gift shop. Annual light festival in May and Vegecareian festival in November attracts thousands each year to the site. In addition to the top section of the Stupa we have planned to build a museum, an interpretative centre, a village, Peace Park, restaurant and a hotel within the next couple of years. We have lots of repeat visitors coming to see the progress of the project. We encourage visitors to visit regularly and witness the rapid development of the project.

The Great Stupa is still under construction, however, visitors are still most welcome to view this place of worship. After viewing a video in the reception centre, a guide will take you to the Stupa. Although still under construction, it is easy to see how big a space the Great Stupa covers in both ground area and height. at present there are 2 Buddha statures within the Stupa and the guide explains the grand plan for completing the structure over the next few years as well as plans for additional facilities within the grounds of the Great Stupa. The only problem I had with the visit was actually finding its location. I obtained some directions from the Tourist Information centre, however, I realised that I should also have done a map reading course. It is a site worth visiting and you will always get a friendly reception once you arrive.

I took a friend visiting from Brisbane and we were amazed at the enormity of the construction. Well worth a visit especially when they have their festivals. Would go again.

I recently visited for the second time in two years and will continue to do each time I visit from Queensland. This time we were able to venture a little inside just the day after a retreat with participants from all over the world had finished - and the place was still buzzing in a very peaceful way, with Buddhist nuns around. We found out about the whole community planned, and the atmosphere there already is just wonderful. This is going to be a very special place indeed. More signs are needed for visitors without local knowledge, and I think this should have a higher profile in the tourist information booklets, as such a huge venture in the middle of Australian bush land has to be unique.
