This is a pleasant place to have coffee and snacks. The gardens are lovely and a stroll along the river on a nice day is worth it. We enjoyed coffee and cake and were greeted by friendly staff. Not busy on the day we were there, which was nice. Reasonable prices and a good selection of snacks available.

Happened across this hidden spot behind the Harvey Tourist Centre- very much a Secret Garden vibe, and a lovely spot to relax beside the Harvey River on a warm day. Worth a wander.

We always break our journey from Perth to Pemberton at Stirling Cottage, just out of Harvey in the south west of Western Australia. The food is always delicious and the young staff friendly and efficient. We've been disappointed only once when they ran out of salad after a particularly busy weekend. This time we both ordered red emperor in a light batter served with home-made chips (probably from Royal Blue potatoes - one of the tastiest in the region.) The tartare sauce was rich and creamy and there was a substantial salad. All very good and great value. The adjacent gardens are especially beautiful at this time of year. Countless butterflies and many unusual flowers and plants. The nearby visitor centre is worth a visit too.An idyllic spot and we hope it never changes.

Stirling cottage and surrounding gardens have a lovely quaint English country feel to them. On the day we were there it was pouring down with rain, so it wasn't the best time to visit, but we were able to sit by the open fireplace while we ate our lunch. The homemade chips were delicious, and everything seemed to be fairly priced. There were 2-3 highchairs available, which was handing for us travelling with a 1 year old.All in all a nice experience, and I hope to return in the Spring to explore the lovely gardens some more.

Driven thru Harvey hundreds of times didn't even know this was there. We had Sunday breakfast tho not much of a breakkie menu it was still a good meal and service. The gardens are so beautiful, you must take a walk around them.

The Cottage and gardens are quaint and picture perfect. Even though it was a rainy day we found a sheltered spot on the verandah (you can also sit inside) so we could enjoy the garden outlook. The food is all obviously home made and all four selections were delicious: Thai fish cakes, quiche, salad and homemade pastie. (Gluten free options available - I had the fish cakes).Generous servings and reasonable prices. So nice to find a quiet and picturesque location with great food. Highly recommended.

A chance to see the background of May Gibbs' characters Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. The gardens around the cottage and along the riverbank are beautiful and a credit to those concerned. Well worth a visit

a secluded spot for a regular coffee and cake with some simple historic displays. The deck over the river looking over the beautiful gardens with oranges, roses and fountain are really lovely. Take a walk through the orange orchard and then along the shady river bank path.

Beautiful gardensstretching down to the river, espalliered walls, history of May Gibbs, good coffee and friendly staff. Then on to Harve cheese and winery and a walk in the Darling ranges in the jarrah forest

We had a good lunch here on a rainy afternoon last week. The wild mushroom bruschetta is very yummy and must not forget the pavlova.... if its not rainy, it will be a pleasant experience to sit outdoor overlooking at the quite garden and river.... lovely place to spend your afternoon tea here......

We stopped for late afternoon tea and even though it was close to closing time we were warmly welcomed and served a luscious afternoon tea. My husband loved the pavlova berry roll and my cheesecake was very nice. Huge servings too! The gardens are really lovely with lots of butterflies.

We explored the cottage and its grounds briefly and would have loved to have tea there if we had more time.

We found the cottage and the gardens very nice and charming. It was a nice break. May be it is a good place to have cup of tea/coffee and a break. But atleast the food we ordered were not upto the standard we expected. We ordered a soup which was cold and after asking politely whether it could be reaheated they did, but even then it was a cold soup. The nachos were stale and even the lamb burger was not so appetising. I had expected more from the Stirling cottage. It is about some time some one opened a nice place to have decent meal in Harvey. We tried the Harvey Hotel but it did not server lunch on that day.

Beautiful gardens, orange trees, river - all so picturesque. Interesting to read about the history, as it used to be the home of the author of 'Snugglepot & Cuddlepie'. The food was delicious and the coffees were nice too. Dessert was a winner! Pavlova roll - yum! Was a great stop, with great views and had easy access to the cafe and toilet for my Mum, who was on a ride-on buggy. A little bit chilly for the oldies, might need an extra jacket.
