Very well maintained , clean and easy to follow . All items are clearly explained . If you have time , a must in Asuncion since it clearly explains the night of the move to independence .

This is your average historical museum located in downtown Asuncion. I actually missed a few times because the photos in the brochure were deceiving. It is a very small historical home kept in its original form outside but turned into a museum that displays the history of Paraguay's independence. It take about 30 minutes to see everything just not a must see but has great information about Paraguay's history. Happy Travels!!!!

I actually waited a week for the museum to reopen on 15August, the day Asunción was founded. It was being decorated for the big day. Lots of wonderful historic documents, including a copy of the Declaration of Independence. The building itself is the original with period furniture to decorate. This museum is a must visit.

It's free and downtown, so why not spend half an hour and walk through its exhibits. The location is relevant for its historical significance, but the displays are, at best, only mildly interesting.

Casa de la Independencia is an adobe house which was built in 1772. In 1811 several men met here to declare the independence of Paraguay from Spain which was achieved peacefully. The museum is very small but it is interesting to visit.

A nice little museum in the centre of the city. It´s a very historically important site, so worth visiting on that alone.Filled with period furnishings and some nice examples of the wooden religous carvings you will see more of in Trinidad, the staff will give very detailed explanations of everything you see - in Spanish only.

This is where Paraguay Independence was planned and declared. A small museum, still rich and interesting. Very well organized, should not be missed

we enjoyed the sundial and displays. it is a lovely old building and the staff were nice too. I recommend a visit here.

Restoration needed. Many of the artifacts need to be preserved in temperature controlled environment. The official guide was very knowledgeable and professional. Enjoyed my visit and came away better educated.

Tiny house, with a few historic scenes and furniture around. Can walk through in 10 minutes. Entrance free.

Just as the title suggests it is interesting place to visit but for tourists information in a different language would be great. Maybe having brochures for people who are no fluent in spanish.

This was a very nice little stop where you can learn about Paraguay's history in the spot where it happened. The curator even speaks great English if you would rather hear the information in English. I totally recommend it if you are looking for a way to fill an after noon. It will take you about 30-45 minutes or so to see.

It was really interesting to know about Paraguay's independance history...The exhibition shows also how were the house in the period of the independance.Free entrance, near from downtown. The only thing that will be bad for people who don't understand Spanish, is that they only have explanations in their language.

It was interesting to see how the houses looked like back then, but other than history, it hasn't really much value to see this place.
