I wasn't lucky enough to enter the light blue church. It occasionally hold some concerts for jazz, folk music. The most beautiful way to watch the church is on the opposite of lake.

Sitting right near our hotel was the most gorgeous little church - similar to most that you see across Iceland. It's pale blue color set against the green mountains was perfectly picturesque. What a fabulous addition to this already charming town.

Coming from the port make a right turn and you'll get to the old part of town with some picturesque wooden houses, all well maintained, and this pretty church among them. As so much in Iceland, modest but nice.

In the churchyard you'll see a little grey triangular stone. This is a reproduction of the Dvergasteinn, which is located about 4 km from Seyðisfjörður town on the northeast shore of the fjord on a gravel road. Look for a sign on a pulloff on the fjord side that explains the story of the stone (the church was moved across the fjord, and the stone followed because it's the church of the 'hidden people'). But it's not clear how to find the actual stone. Go downhill toward the fjord, over a fence stile, and follow a footpath through the grass. The Dvergasteinn is right at the shore of the fjord near a little stream that you'll have to jump over.

The trip into Seydisfjordur is terrifying, especially with cloudy weather. You can barely see 20 feet in front of you and you can still feel the steep drops down the side of the mountain. However, when you break into the valley, there is no more magical or stunning view. You feel this sense of calm come over you as you come into the valley, as if there is no problem in the world. This church is icing on the cake, a picturesque church in a gorgeous valley. Spend a day as a retreat, and let the nature heal any issues.

This is a lovely little church, painted in pale blue, serving the small picturesque village of Seyðisfjörður.The church is located in the middle of the village, just by the water, next to a small hotel and a café.There's no indication when the church is open for visitors, so just ask the friendly locals.
