Great place to hang out and spend the day with family! Educational for kids and fun rides on camels and ponies!
Visited the Camel Park with our daughter, son in law and granddaughters. My husband and son in law had a camel ride. The park and exhibits are just right size so that little people don't get bored. Lots of camels to see plus ponies, peacocks, sheep and goats to name but a few. I do agree with a previous comment that the camels did look a bit overcrowded but didn't seem distressed. There appears to be a large field which I imagine the animals are turned into for a rest from the visitors. Certainly that was were a mare and foal had been put. All the animals appreciated the carob pods which made feeding easy for a 3 year old. We visited in February on a cold day, but imagine it is fine in the summer as there is a lot of shelter for visitors. This was a second visit for my daughter and family. Great for photographing the camels.
The camal park is a really nice place to go to when your in Cyprus. I enjoyed riding the camal. You could feed the animals with the food available to buy at the Reception. Staff are really helpful and the 5D screen was really good. Prices are reasonable. They have lots of activities there for kids. There was Swimming pool and Golf course ect.
We had a brilliant time at the camel park - everyone rode on the camels (including my mother and my two year old), which was great fun, and we must have bought seven or eight bags of carob beans to feed the various animals (again, the two year old was not fazed and was happy to feed them to camels several times his size!). There are also rides for the children, including a little train, and trampolines and play equipment. We have taken some good videos too, including of the camels 'roaring' to each other. The 5D cinema was well worth visiting and had water squirting, bubbles etc. We will definitely come back again if in the area.
Dear reviewer, we appreciate the time you took to write this review. We take these reviews seriously. Please allow me to disagree on a few things that you have spotted. We understand that if it rains, the park is not at its best. Winter for us is the low season, therefore we do not have as much staff as you'd normally find at the park. Furthermore, another point is that you forgot to mention that if you pay 9 euros for the camel ride, you do not pay the 3 for entrance. Adding to this, the 5D cinema is 3 euros per person , not 10. You have mentioned that the ostriches do not have a shelter from the rain, but they do! All animals have a shelter. As far as being crowded is concerned, you probably have not seen the big field next to the park that the animals are taken to be free. JWe didnt understand the restaurant part as the restaurant menus have a lot of pages. As far as the gift shop ia concerned, the three items you claim we do not have, we actually do have and we sell alot of them daily. Therefore again we don't understand what you mean. Furthermore, we havent had a problem with our photos before, are you sure the weather was good enough for a good picture? Concluding, we appreciate your review. We will continue to do everything we can to keep our Animals and guests happy.
Dozens of Camels and other animals, birds and fish can be found at Mazotos Camel Park near Larnaka. On the day of our visit we saw a baby camel in the "new born" area and we were told that it was just 3 hours old. There were also two cute baby pot-bellied pigs suckling from their mother. If you visit on a Tuesday as a part of the Larnaka Winter Experiences Programme then entry is free.
We went to the camel park with our 3 kids and their Granda, they really loved having a ride on the camels and enjoyed seeing all the other animals, they have a bucking bronco that was really good fun, the food and drink is reasonably priced, we would definitely take other visitors to cyprus here
This park is interesting as you can experience camel rides and later enjoy some food prior to venturing around other villages in Cyprus.
We loved the Camel Park! Many camels, some horses, a donkey and some other animals. Many activities for children and a nice place to drink coffee. We took a lot of pictures!!!
With our young grandson visiting us here in Cyprus, we wanted to find somewhere we could go just for him. The camel park was the ideal venue .... Reasonably priced and with activities for a wide age range of children. A good size swimming pool and toddler pool, grassed areas, decent reasonably priced restaurant and, of course, the camels and other animals.Highly recommended !
Both my daughter (aged 12) & I had an absolutely fantastic time at the Camel Park in Mazotos!...Infact it was one of my favourite parts to our whole holiday! As soon as we walked in we visited the small museum which showed us the way Cypriots used to live. We brought some carobs from the souvenir shop to feed the animals & rushed to the camels who took the food directly from our hands!! It was such fun!! We had a little look around the zoo where we saw ostriches, donkeys, ponies, horses, pigs and other animals! We then took a fab ride around the park on a camels' back and had our photo taken as a lovely reminder. My daughter found some swings to play on & we had a bubble milk-shake. We had a ride on a bucking-bronco bull which again was such fun, trying to see how long we could stay on for. All staff seemed incredibly friendly and helpful...I will definitely return for a visit if I am ever lucky enough to visit Cyprus again.
no foul animal odour the animal a treated spent some lovely hours with my family enjoyed the park and all the animals got to ride a clean camel!
Last year I visited for the first time with my 2 girls aged 2 and 6, only expecting camels. There is so much more to this park than just camels and you will be pleasantly surprised. The girls were reticent about taking a ride last year but there were cute little ponies for them to ride instead. This didn't stop them fussing and feeding all the camels. Indeed the bags of carobs to feed them only cost €1.00 each, so definitely not going to break the bank. Despite the reputation camels seem to have on tv as unpleasant spitting animals, we found these to be pleasant and courteous, if a camel can be such a thing! My girls were very taken with them and happy to hug a head whenever it passed through the fencing. There is a small 5 d cinema although, due to the short attention span of a 2 year old, especially being distracted by so many camels, we did not give this a whirl. We did use the small amusement park which includes sit on rides and a small room of magic mirrors and a small petting zoo. There is also a play park for the children with swings etc. The trip might only have your family occupied for 2 hours if you were not pre-warned that there is a swimming pool and sun loungers for you to use at your leisure, and being Cyprus, the sun almost always shines. Luckily we had our cossies with us so were able to take a dip while we waited for our food to arrive. The food is reasonably priced and good quality. Last year I tried the moussaka which was delicious, although this year I only had a snack as we were off out to dinner later. This year my girls were bold enough to brave a ride on the camels, so as a family, myself, husband and two girls went on them while my eldest daughter, who had not come along last year, became the family photographer. Don't worry if you have no one to take your picture, the park has its own staff taking pictures which you can purchase in the gift shop at the end of your visit. If you aren't sure if you would risk a ride, my 3 year old thoroughly enjoyed the ride and laughed all the way round the short pathway you are taken on. My 6 year old found it a litle disconcerting being so very high up. As for myself, I thought it felt like riding a wonky 3 legged horse on a ship in a storm and felt a little seasick when i disembarked! Still, its one of those things you should try, even if just once in your life, just remember to wear trousers because mounting the creature with a skirt on is a very unladylike experience and you will likely flash your underwear at unsuspecting visitors! The park also has special events and evenings so it is worth checking out before you visit and you will really be able to make a whole day and evening of your trip! It was a visit enjoyed by all, even my older girl who is 20!
We visited this park after reading reviews on here so thought it was only fair to give a review ;)Fantastic day, superb friendly staff, great value for money, well looked after animals, nice food and a pool with sun loungers!! Perfect day in very hot Cyprus with plenty to keep the children occupied! Deff worth a visit - thank you x
we came at noon - it was very hot...there is nice ride (but short) and also you can feed the animals - there is a muke there that is kicking the gate if you dont give him to eat - very funny/
