This is a large palace in a small town. We love the garden walk, and were fortunate enough to hear a live orchestra show set up at the end. We were also able to witness a farmer's wedding with a tractor procession. The town is lovely and the market place has some nice restaurants.

Whilst staying in Rothenburg for the Christmas markets we decided on a drive out to see if the Schloss was open. Luckily we arrived just in time for a tour on which we were the only visitors. The lovely and helpful guide was extremely patient with our limited German and we found the whole tour very informative. the view of the gardens from the very impressive main hall was superb. apparently in the summer the gardens are lovely and we would happily return in the future to see them.

Each room is different style. You need guided tour.Unfortunatly there is no other language just German. But it is ok.Especially ball room with the music is phantastic.Garden is nice.

Nice garden, original renesance and baroque rooms, located in nice old small town, on the Romantic way in Germany

Saved from modernisation or worse this palace is kept quite original and is well worth a visit. The former inhabitant watch the french closely and copied that for his own palace. The garden is very to walk around in. Pay attention to the garden gnomes sitting at the edge of the garden, they are modelled after the former palace staff.

A very small town. I was a bit skeptical at first when a tour guide showed up at the bus recruiting potential guests in her uniform. But decided to go for a quick tour (I think it was only about a half euro or so). Well worth the time, but a little rushed. The garden was wonderful in August. Unfortunately, upon completion of the tour we had no additional time to see much of the town due to the itinerary of the bus company.

As country estates go this is above average. Were we to rate the garden alone, we would give it five points. The castle also hosts events such as fairs, markets concerts and operas. I imagine that those could be spectaculer.

A visit to this Schloss with its wonderfully-trained guides is a wonderful trip to the past glory of the local aristocracy. The beautifully preserved rooms and paintings of its erstwhile residents give life to one's imagination. The ballroom is exquisite! So are the gardens; in short, a jewel of a schloss!

This Hoehenloe palace next to a tiny village stood undisturbed for centuries. The artifacts and decoration are in like-new condition. Amazing.

My wife and I decided to tour this in the middle of our Liebliches Taubertal bicycle tour. It is a beautiful castle with all original furnishings. The tour was very thorough, the rooms interesting, and some very extravagent. Particularly interesting was the enormous banquet hall which contains paintings of all the notable (in the 1700s) buildings in Europe decorating the baseboards, as well as antlers and horns from all sorts of exotic animals that the residents had hunted hanging high on the well from life size plaster depictions of each animal's body. Also extraordinary is the 20 foot tall mechanical clock, which miraculously went off during our tour (only the 2nd time that has happened during a tour our tour guide informed us). It was great to see such opulence and display of regal life in a tour with only 20 people on it! There is only one tour per hour on the hour, and traffic is light. Highly recommended!!

The garden here can be compared to Versailles. Be sure to take a guided tour as the guides are dressed in character and provide detailed information about the family, the palace and the gardens. Take a walk to the main square to enjoy iced coffee in one of the many charming outdoor cafes.

Enter the Schloss grounds to well alid out formal gardens with statues at the entrance leading to a fountain & beyond.Good views of the Schloss from here especially of the tower. This Schloss is the well known as the location of Opera Performances. Students of music study here.

We decided to stop by Weikersheim and have a look at the schloss while wandering up the Romantic Road. What a suprise to find such a charming town with an absolutely beutiful castle and gardens. We could not stay for the guided tour, but wandered around the gardens and enjoyed strolling through town. We are planning to make this a designated stop on our next trip. It is definitely worth a stop!
