The exhibition hall is now closed until April 2015 as they are installing the new exhibition. We still managed to spend 20 minutes browsing the surprisingly expansive gift shop.

Stopped in here first thing in the morning and I was very surprised to find some excellent art by artists I had not heard of before. I loved the Schiele collection and the museum has a great gift shop.

His mother was from Cesky, he went there often and painted, got kicked out for painting young girls and living with his girlfriend, but they love him anyway. They do not have a huge collection, but some good ones, and lots of history pertaining to him. This is a well done museum, in an old industrial building. In addition to the Schiele's they have other exhibits as well. The current one is really remarkable.....don't miss it if you are there now.

This is an interesting exhibit of Schiele's time in Cesky Krumlov. Not comprehensive by any means yet well worth your time. Very little original art but not necessary for the story being told. An interesting building worthy of exploration.

We really enjoyed this gallery and spent quite a bit of time here. The whole gallery is a pleasure to wander around. The old building is very well used. The Egon Schiele story was also interesting, very sad he died at 28. Entry fee is included if you purchase the Cesky Krumlov card. Pop around the back and have a look at the street art. Well worth the visit.

great warehouse setting, interesting presentation of local artists also, as well as a centennial exhibition of a great collage artist. Schiele history very good.

I knew about this museum already before I arrived in the charming town of Cesky Krumlov. I popped in for a visit after doing the castle, etc. The entrance fee was reasonable. This is a museum exhibiting quite a few artists rather than just Egon Schiele himself; some you're more likely to have heard of than others, but overall presenting some interesting and engaging art-work. The Schiele exhibition is a little smaller than I had anticipated, but an interesting insight, nonetheless. It may be worth noting that it is centred specifically on his time in, and links with Cesky Krumlov, rather than a comprehensive overview of his career. They do have some great artifacts/furniture of his, though. Overall, it is somewhere definitely worth visiting, if not for the building/gallery space itself. My only frustration was with the security staff in each room who are maybe a little over-suspicious following you around as you move about.

My travel agent convinced me to go from Prague to Vienna via Cesky Krumlov. I saw that this was in town and put it on my itinerary. It really doesn't have a lot but it's not expensive.

I stumbled upon this museum quite by chance after reading about Egon Schiele this year, and then coincidentally finding myself in a town he had lived in and been inspired to paint! I couldn't believe my luck. I didn't expect there to be several other artists on display in this gallery so I found myself getting lost in the modern art, and barely had time to see Schiele's exhibit before almost missing my bus back to Prague by mere seconds. Make sure you have ample time to wander around in there. It's very interesting, and it's much bigger than you'd expect. There's a cafe that looked tempting to relax in also.

Fascinating man, fascinating gallery. If you have some time in Cesky Krumlov after you're looked at the main tourist areas, this gallery is worth a visit.

I had not heard of the artist Egon Schiele, who lived in Chesky and did much work there. However, once I saw the museum, I really enjoyed his work and his interesting history. In Vienna, we went to the Secessionist Museum to see more of his work.Besides Schiele's great work, there are collages by Jiri Kolar. I had not heard of him, but my mind was opened. I hope you have the same experience; absolutely amazing craftsmanship and creativity. If you love art and want to see something new, please visit. You will not regret it!

This was amazing and a highlight for me stubbling across this exhibition. The art appealed to me, but may not to everyone.

If you know who is Egon Schiele then you will probably enjoy. Do not expect anything bombastic, this is very quiet and modest museum and it depends the date you come if there is something interesting or not to see those days. In any case there is really quiet café and shop with great colection of art books, postcards and othar staff. Especially recommended during short and dark winter days. Before (or after) visit just walk the streets around the museum and imagine how it was when Schiele lived there. Not much changed at some corners...

If you decide to go to Cesky Krumlov, dont miss this gallery! Egon Schieles paintings were not allowed to be published in Austria as they were too sexy... so be moved to Cesky Krumlov in Bohemia, where everything is possible. Interesting museum, really great experience! :)
