Built originally around 13th century, this church is unique: look up when you are inside and view the roof, shaped very like the upturned hull of a boat. The port was used by privateers and was occupied by the English from1415-1466, with whom they were often at war. This period saw the destruction of this church, rebuilt their beloved church from the timbers of TOUQUES, and made use of the towns shipbuilders: it was originally only meant to be temporary but it still stands today and is well worth a visit.

A truly stunning church - quite unique in its design and character. Definitely worth a visit if in Honfleur. Quite unlike any other church.

We were only able to see the outside of the church as there was a funeral taking place. It is a very interesting building: history, style, architecture.

Loved this church, different from many others visited. Very light and open feel. Lovely windows. As an aside,I forgot my handbag on a wall outside the church,I was amazed to find it still there over half an hour later, all in tact! A tribute to the people of Honfleur!

Well worth a look inside this ancient and beautiful church made from wood. The scenery is awesome and the decoration stunning. Its age is evident and the wooden archways, impressive pulpit and beautiful carvings were a delight. Lovely

After viewing so many wonderful stone cathedrals this church was a nice change of pace. Take some time to look at the skill that went into the construction of this church as well as the forethought with regards to expansion/fire etc. Everything was hewn by axe and the fact it is still standing 400-500 years later is amazing.

The oak ceiling that looks like the hull of a boat was the first thing to amaze me. But this church is full of surprises including the bell tower being separate from the church, perhaps as a fire precaution? In fact the bell tower is part of the Musée Eugène Boudin. Do not miss the statue of Saint Anne and Jesus as a child.

This church is truly unique being constructed of ships timbers. Very much the centre of Honfleur and steeped in its maritime and artistic history. On Wednesdays and Saturdays it is surrounded by the market.

This church is a short walk from the harbor. This is the oldest wooden church in France. The church itself is small. It's worth a quick stop to look inside. Very close to small shops and restaurants.

I have never seen one like this.Even if you don't do churches pop in.The restaurants close by are very good.

We visited it on Christmas eve, walking from La Closerie Honfleur to there. It is a beautiful church with many amenities around it.

This wooden historic church was very unique compared to other churches we visited in France. It was a very short walk from the harbor.

Saint Catherine's Church is very unique, being the oldest wooden church in France, and being built by Norman ship builders. Also, the bell tower is across the small square from the church! It is very interesting to see.

We had the luck of staying at a flat right across from the church and we woke up to church bells and the market being set up. Nice wooden church that has a lot of history.

Built by ship builders after the Hundred Years War, the church is truly beautiful with it's architecture, history, and stain glass windows
