We really enjoyed watching this spectacular event that gave us a chance to admire birds of prey in flight-eagles, vultures, falcons, owls. The show opens with black kites that catch pieces of meat thrown into the air by the handlers. The highlight was having the Andean Condor vulture stroll over the legs of all the audience members. Only wish there was a show in English as we would have enjoyed hearing the commentary. Entry fee is 9.5 Euros.

I took my wife to La volerie des aigles probably ten years ago. We both had good memories of it. We decided to take our children this year, and though it felt like a somewhat expensive outing for something that can be so short, we all left really content with the experience. As other have pointed out, the show with the birds of prey is all in French. There are an number of handlers involved, and one of them is doing the narration. I can't really conceive hearing more than one language as it all happens fairly fast. This is a very dynamic show with birds flying overhead constantly. The visit lasts as long as you want to stay. Doors open in the afternoon, and shows are schedule an hour apart. With a show lasting about 30 to 40 minutes, it is easy to stick around to see the show twice. The rest of the time can be spent enjoying the great view, or simply the ruin of the castle where this is all taking place. There also a number of species of birds to see and learn about. The highlight of the show is clearly the vultures flying over the crowd. The handlers position themselves such that these big birds cruise right over your heads. It is not uncommon to have the wings flap on your heads, and a lot of people get so nervous they duck. This is very exciting. The other really neat thing is that they take volunteers from the crowd to have eagles land on. They mostly pick children, place the gloves on them and have the eagles fly to them. Both my children were fortunate to be picked for that, and I feel the experience was priceless. All in all, this is something I would greatly recommend to anyone.

Set in lovely castle ruins, this bird of prey sanctuary makes for a lovely half-day outing. The show which is put on regularly throughout the day is very interesting with many birds shown. The commentary is all in French & although an information sheet is provided in English, the birds shown varies for each display, so it was not easy to use. There is an opportunity for some of the audience members to hold certain birds during the display - a big plus for our 8 year old. Viewing the birds on their perches/in their cadges was interesting, but takes a maximum of 1 hour. Recommend combining with Montagne des Signes, just down the road.

The show lasts around 45 minutes and at least 20 different birds are flown. I bet you have never even seen a secretary bird, nor seen a demonstration of how it catches its prey! The commentary is only in French but this doesn't really detract from the enjoyment of seeing these majestic birds in flight. Loads of opportunities for children to experience having a bird fly to or from their hand, creating incredible memories.

While traveling around Alsace, we made a point of visiting La Volerie des Aigles. The demonstration was well done and educational. The entry feel allows you to also roam around castle ruins and see the birds on their perches between shows. It is not as dramatic as the bird show that you can see in Provins, just outside of Paris, but it is more of a teaching moment. It was very intimate because the seating allows you to be very close to the birds and the handlers with not too many visitors at a time. This would be an excellent place to come with kids.

By birds of prey that I have seen, well worth the admission. It does help if you understand a bit of French, but if you put your hand up when others do, you may get to have a bird of prey land on a glove on your hand. If you are wearing a hat an owl may land on your head! Whatever else you will certainly have several close encounters with some wonderful birds of prey flying close by. My only warning is that the car park is a fairly long walk along an uneven forest path from the castle, so anyone with any infirmities will struggle.

take your kids to see a nobel bird that surfes the sky in an ellegant way. We can learn about aigles lives and appreciate them better.

We visited the place on a sunny day at noon and were very impressed by the huge birds flying so close to your head, as well as the owls and some other birds we've never seen before in live. The place located up the hill in a beautifull Chateau (castle in a forest).I didn't rate this place at the maximum rate only because the show is in French, but it's nevertheless very impressing.Don't miss this place - it's a must if you are visiting Alsace or even at Europa Park. The prices are 9.5 Euro for adult, 6 Euro for kids (5-14).in the summer (14.7-20.8) they have 5 shows (11:30, 12:45, 14:00, 15:30, 17:00).A tip for the owners of this place - combine live english explanations in the show. the english brochure you are giving at the entrance, which should explains what we gonna see in the show, is not effective.

When you enter the courtyard space where the birds will be flown from, there are wonderful views out over the wine road along the Vosges. The bird handlers are very good and there is always a chance to personally experience even the larger birds. Well worth a visit.

Here there is a wide collection of birds of prey: eagles, vultures, owls and a condor. Not only are they perched for close-up photos, but many of them take part in a flying display swooping low over the audience sitting in a circle. Lazy UK visitors expect to park close to the entrance to an attraction; here the approach is along a wooden forest path.

It you plan to visit Haut Koenigsbourg drive less than 10 km to the eagles show at Kintzheim. The show is very impressing with many types of carnivorous birds – eagles, vultures, owls, falcons and more. The show is done in the court of a castle in the middle of the forest and with full participation of the audience. Don't miss it! The show is in French only but written information was given in English.

We visited the place after a stay in the Europa-Parc (1 hour drive) and were very impressed by the birds of pray and also the beautiful location (castle in a forest). It's a pity that the show is only in French, but it's nevertheless very impressing to have an eagle flying some centimeters over your head!

A very interesting and well organized show of different birds of pray in a beautiful location. They exhibit the birds, showing their flight abilities and all is happening few meters or less from your eyes. It's a pitty that the show is only in French, but don't skip it for this reason.

A dynamic display of raptor skills in which you may well be asked to participate! Helping to feed birds of prey or letting them walk over you bare legs. Children will love this place once they have got over the initial scare of having eagles and vultures and even a condor flying and walking next to them. The birds all look very healthy well fed and happy. The only critique I have is that the presentation is in French only . No German or English. But even so it is worth the visit.
