Takes about an hour to walk around the lake which at this time of year was quite bare . Good place to walk off the excellent Swedish food

We took a bus to the far east of the island, and walked along the banks as far as Skansen museum, about 3 km. There was heavy snow, and the whole walk was wonderfully atmospheric. And a range of good places to warm up and eat or drink at the end near Skansen.

This is the place everyone should visit when they are in Sweden. It is best in the summer time, because they have concerts. This year lots of big artist.

You will end up spending plenty of time here if you are interested in the history of Stockholm. Easy to reach by tram or bus and as part of the hop on hop off tour.

Great place for a walk especially if the sun is out. Well maintained when it snows so it is a park for all seasons.

For someone not used to seeing snow, this was a beautiful place - icy water all around, everything looks still and frozen contrasted by the bright colours of the surrounding houses.

The island of Djurgarden is a great area to take a walk after visting the Vasa Museum or Skansen (or both!) It's easy to forget you're in the middle of a major city when walking around the tranquil parkland.

Djurgarden is large and consist of many different things all worth while to see and enjoy. It is easy to access by bus or cable car from the City Center - Sergels Torg. Or why not - walk. Djurgarden is at it best by walking or cycling. Close to the water passing by small and old shipyards, marinas, houses and gardens. Walking and cycle path are very generous. Don't stress to cover Djurgarden. It requires at least half a day, recommended a full day to be able to take part of everything on the route round Djurgarden. July and August are busy. Spring and autumn are also alternatives to consider if possible. Much information is available with wide spectrum of activities and places to visit.

You're in the middle of the beautiful park and you have no idea it's in a city. There are these great cafes and gardens to sit in and stroll through. There are some sites to see within the garden as well.

I like the area itself. Beautiful nature and not too crowdy. Lots of art museums if you wat to go in.

Djurgarden is an island in Stockhom, but the region stretches somewhat into the surrounding mainland as well. There are quite a few famous museums there, historical, technical, nautical, the Vasa museum - and of course Skansen, a combined zoo and museum of swedish buildings and peasant life.Djurgarden also hosts the amusement park Grona Lund, often with world famous stars on its stage. Some of the richest families in Sweden have their homes there, for instance Benny Andersson, famous song writer, former with ABBA.The late prince Bertil also had his home thare. There are also quite a few restaurant, among them the most famous of them all - The Oaxen, quartered in an old shipyard. In short - there is a lot to see and do in Djurgarden.Martin Martinesco

Djurgården is a breathtaking place to visit for young and old, especially during summer. Take a boat or simply go for a stroll through this beautiful scenery. A must see while visiting Stockholm!

Djurgården is a marvellous oasis quite near the city centre of Stockholm. It's beautiful all year around, although I prefer it in the summer or in wintertime (if it's a snowy winter...)

Djurgården is perfect to walk and stroll in. In summer there are many fine platelets to have picknick on. In winter you can go in one of the museum's there. The easiest way to get there by tram which runs very frequently from Sergelstorg
