Great place to relax, very close to Bucharest. Summer is definitly the best time to visit Mogosoaia, but spring is also nice. Try during the week, when the place is not that crowded

Very beautiful castle very close to Bucharest. It is built in a special style called "Brancovenesc" which is a kind of mix between oriental and venetian elements. The land surrounding the castle is pretty large with a lot of old trees and a small lake, the perfect place to take a nice relaxing walk and enjoy the nature. Still in the summer there are too many people

My husband and I went there on a not so shiny sunday afternoon .We loved the park all around the castle , the way the nature makes you imagine that life hasn' t changed at all in the last 300 years .A great place to visit with kids .

The Mogosoaia domain is about 10km away from Bucharest - you can get here with a rental car, not sure if there are any busses. The trip is worth it. I'm a local and I still enjoy coming here in the summer - it's a bit cooler than the city, the domain has a lake and a chapel and woods. It's very nice and relaxing. There's even a barbecue spot, if you're into that kind of thing. Or you can just come for a picnic. In the summer there are usually about 2 or 3 brides on the premises, as it's a great place for photos.

Mogosoaia Palace is a Romania Baroque Royal Palace just outside Bucharest. The style is distinctive and different from other Palaces of the period in Europe. It is set in a gated park with an ancient church just outside the main door. The Palace is surrounded by lawns, woods and gardens filled with flowers. When I was there in May there must have been an acre of purple Iris. The Palace also overlooks a small lake. There are some family vaults in the woods.Inside there are many large rooms that are bright and airy and filled with a variety of items including 17th to 19th century furniture and a considerable number of old Romanian carpets. This Palace is not to be missed if you visit Bucharest.

If you are passionate about architecture and history, Palatul Mogosoaia it is the perfect place to discover old Romanian architecture - Brancovenesc style.A lot of cultural events it happens in this place during the year. The palace has an unforgettable english garden, ideally to be admired curing sunset. You don't have to miss this place if you visit Bucharest and are interested in art, culture but also nature.

The Mogosoaia park is the nearest to our hose wo we come here often. The Palace is in great conition, well taken care of, the gardens are splendid, you can sit on the side of the lake or on the grass between trees in a hot summer day. there is the big park, the palace gardens and a new park with kids activities. There is also a restaurant with Romanian food - I never liked the service or the food but is great to have a place to have a cold drik in the summertime. The museum is old and not updated with the technology - not very much things to be seen in it

A real must see of Bucharest, if anything. It's on my short list, as well as The "Old" Town, the Royal Palace Plaza (Piata Palatului), "La Sosea" district and Cotroceni District. An extremely peaceful place (despite its' tragic history), blending in a typical Romanian way influences of French, English, Italian and Byzantine noble retreats.Car rental (with some sort of navigation) or taxi are mandatory.

Out of the trafic jams, noise and smog of Bucharest, at a few km, is located the Mogosoaia Palace. The few parking places were plenty enough, very few tourists being interested in it. Only a few Romanian families coming there for a picnic and a BBQ. I enjoyed the silence and the few people around. Sunny or shady places on a big area with a lake.

It is my third time i am coming to this historical monument of Architecture and its beautiful surroundings and lake. Visiting the Palace in spring time is making the experience even more beautiful as the trees in blossom, the perfumed flowers and the green trees and peaceful harmony gives you the serenity your might be looking for after a full stressful week in the capital of Romania. The palace is not hard to find, it is 10 min drive from Bucharest, in Ilfov County as exiting the city from the East side on the way to Targoviste City. At one time, as shown, you will have to turn left and at the end of the street you will find this beautiful landmark of nature and the Mogosoaia Palace. Mogosoaia comes from the Mogos, naming the woman of Mogos, one of the rich family of the 15 th century that owned the land. The Palace was buit in the Romanian Renaissance style called Brancovenesc. The Palace is surrounded by park, forest and lake and you are even allowed to spend your time on the property free no matter what activity you would like to have. Taking pictures, having a walk, playing badminton or volleyball, you can forget about the crowded city for a day.I strongly recommend taking some sunscreen and drinks as there are not shops around the palace so if you need to spend some more time here, you need to be sure you have everything with you.

You must go to Mogosoaia Palace, the park is really peaceful and beautiful, you can have a really relax time with your friends on a picnic or just have a stroll through the park. You can spend here half of day if you want to, it is a little far from Bucharest center, I am not sure if you have a bus that drives you there, you better look it up on the internet, but it's really nice. It's really good for events and ceremonies!

The Mogosoaia Palace park was recently "improved". Now it looks much better and it is the ideal place to have a quiet (and romantic) walk, to enjoy a picnic, to run or to practice some sports (including some water sports too). Cultural events from time to time during the weekends. But the best is it is not crowded yet! The Palace worth the visit, too.
