It's a relief to wander round this part of Luton and find the Bear Club such a friendly and characterful place. Great decor and atmosphere created out of scaffolding boards, pallets, string and ingenuity. Good range of boutique beers and cocktails, attentive and friendly service. Excellent venue for music, a real quality experience. Would definitely come again.

We went to the Bear Club in Luton last night, not sure what to expect I was told it was a Jazz club, it is more like Jazz with a twist and I could not have been happier. I love this place, the atmosphere was amazing, the musicians were incredible, Friendly and professional from the Bar staff and the wonderful group we were lucky to see. Everyone was dancing and singing along. The place was sold out and standing space only, but it didn't matter, everyone was just having a blast. CC Smugglers were playing last night and they were fantastic very professional and worked the audience brilliantly. It costs about £12.50 to get in and it was well worth it, if you are a Bear Member then you get in for £10. The Location is close to the the Bus and train station, parking very close by and is free at night to park. Go along and give it a go, I have not been able to stop smiling since the show finished and I am sure we will visit again very soon.

What a find The Bear Club is. Advertised as a jazz n blues club, it's offerings are much wider and deeper. This is a club for people who love music and love keeping it real. I'm a bear keeper (member) and I don't live locally, but in four months not a single night has been a disappointment, on the contrary, whether I have been with my girlfriend on our own or with fronds and family, it is always a great place to be. Unique in every way that is good. Get yourself down there.

As I've said elsewhere, the best new venue in Luton for years and the level of excellence that everyone else should aspire to.Live music, comedy, spoken word and film nights, all in a converted nineteenth century building about 3 minutes walk from Luton Railway Station and Bus Interchange, with the Bute Street Shoppers Car Park behind the club free after 6pm. Bottled beers, wine, cocktails and spirits on offer. There are bar snacks, but no other food - it ain't that kind of place.Plenty of tables, but you can stand if that's your preference. The friendly staff make for a welcoming atmosphere, where you can meet people you know and get to know people you didn't before - and it really has attracted people from 18 to 80.You can turn up at the door for most ticketed events, but some will be advance only. Bear Club members like me get in for free for quite a few events and get discounts for most nights; sometimes it's free entry for everyone. Oh, and being a bear, it hibernates for a while in winter. All those details are on the website: www.the-bear.club. For anyone into Twitter, the Bear himself tweets via @the_bear_club.

I was really glad when a friend of mine told me about the Bear Club! Its really something I didn't expect to find in Luton! The venue is really fantastic run by a great guy, Justin. The atmosphere and quality of music is second to none in the area and it's even worth a trip from London! Please keep it up guys! We will be back! Ah, and I have to mention the great selection of beers and lovely wines available at the bar. Great stuff!

We absolutely love this place. Never had a dull night. The acts are all fantastic and the staff are brilliant, you will be hard pushed to find a friendlier bunch that's for sure. It suits all ages and has an atmospher the lends to the brilliant acts they book. We can not recommend this place enough. If you love live music, good atmosphere and something different to drink, then get yourself down there.

For me this venue ticks all the boxes for listening to live music:- Intimate - so you can really feel in touch with the performers- Great sound- Great atmosphere - friendly staff, enthusiastic audience- Not a sweaty basement, but an airy "warehouse" style room- Interesting range of drinks at the barEven finding the place adds to the experience. Turn off Guildford street into the dimly Mill Yard, the stencil of a bear barely visible on the door ahead. You almost expect to be asked for a password as you push the door open!

This is a new Jazz/Blues Club in Luton opened in September 2014. Opens 3 evenings a week at present. The atmosphere/ setting is perfect for Jazz. They also host Blues acts and have other interesting evenings. Its an intimate venue, I think it holds up to 80 people. Very friendly and informal atmosphere. Saw drummer Dylan Howe with 3 other very talented musicians was a great night of Jazz with much improvisation adding to the general good vibe. The building is a small old warehouse done up inside with odd chairs, packing cases and small tables. The walls are clad with old floorboards in a very artistic way, candles in jam jars on tables add to the great ambiance. The evening entertainment is backed up behind the bar by a very fine and large selection of craft beers, gins and whisky. None of which are outragiously expensive. You don't need to be a Jazz fanatic to enjoy this place, it's just a really cool venue to hear live entertainment. Check out the website to see whats coming up. If you live in Luton or plan to visit give it a try.
