Take your time. Read everything. I love this Chapel. It is weird when you think you are walking over the final resting place of King Henry the VIII. I hope he doesn't come back after my head as well......

What a privlege it was for us to attend a Wednesday evening Lenten service while visiting Windsor Castle. There was a local college choir who sand the service and they were very talented.

a really beautiful & atmospheric place to visit. Amazing carvings & perfect if you're interested in our history.

I love history and have been to countless historical buildings all over the world. I actually think St George's Chapel is my all time favourite. Stunning late 15th century Perpendicular gothic architecture at its spectacular best. As the the royalty buried there, Edaward IV, Henry VI, Charles I, Henry VIII as well as the much more recent members the Queen's family. It's the medievalness that steals the show for me though.

St George's Chapel is easily the most lovely church in all of England. It is hard to put into words just why it is such a special place. The numerous royal tombs are very poignant to see in person. The Quire is a truly glorious space with the bright colours of the banners and crests of the Knights of the Garter above the spectacularly carved choir stalls. The nave is remarkable with its high, vaulted ceilings that have been there for centuries. While I was there two staff members were cleaning a marble sarcophagus with toothbrushes - quite a sight amid so much history! It is worth paying 30p for a floorplan of the chapel so you can plan your path around the chapel as the Castle audio guide doesn't tell you much in this regard. It is equal to the Castle itself as the most memorable thing in Windsor.

We've visited the chapel before - a magnificent late medieval building, home of the Garter Knights. This time we popped in for evensong, at the end of a day when we had attended an investiture in the Castle. Despite (because of?) its royal and ceremonial attributes, it is clearly a working church with several services a day. As we came in the evening sun was blazing through the west window - much less strong when we left. About 20 of us sat in the Garter stalls for an evensong with music by Byrd. We were just behind a very resonant base. A prayerful and uplifting end to a memorable day

So beautiful and elegant. Well worth a visit. Don't miss the memorial to Princess Charlotte - a masterpiece of marble sculpture. The officials there are helpful and informative, and it is well worth talking with them, to gain the little insights that only they can provide.

There's everything to like and nothing to dislike! Great stewards, friendly welcome, superb information. A place which fills you with wonder and inspiration.

e couldn't go in because it was Sunday but it was still stunning to see from the outside. I wish we could have gone inside as well but our day was full enough with the Castle, Bath and Stonehenge

Don't miss this lovely chapel and worship if you have the opportunity. It was a binding moment for our family. Know history before you visit and it makes it all so much finer. We have been to the chapel and surrounds many times but each time is a lovely memory. It is getting more and more busy but I suppose more people are traveling. Dress nicely and respectfully for this experience. It is a holy place. We are grateful to worship here and share its remarkable history.

You can walk around looking at all the tombs, beautiful building & very interesting. You can leave a message & it will be read out & prayed for at service.

The atmosphere was very good despite the amount of tourists and the use of the handsets telling them about the history of each point of the tour helped to keep it quiet. There were still people trying to take photos but the guides explained that it was not allowed. It was very impressive to see the tombs of the royal family and it is still a functioning chapel with evening prayer said if not sung every day.
