博物馆本身是维多利亚时期建筑,很讲究,本身就是一件艺术品。而且免入场费,他们所收藏的展品都很有意思,就拿我来说,不知不觉就逛了整天了。

I spent 3 hours here today, nowhere near enough time to take in the amazing art and exhibits. My friend and I were delighted by the Pre-Raphaelite paintings, such a stunning collection under one roof. I also recommend a visit to the top floor to look at the exhibition celebrating the evolution of birmingham; it was fascinating, whilst having a personal touch with people's stories. Great collection of artefacts from workhouses, the war, houses, clothes, video and audio stories, to name but a few. We enjoyed a coffee in a small coffee bar near the staircase to the above display, pleasant place to sit, good coffee too. We also liked the range of goods in the shop.Definately want to return for a really long visit, well worth it and thank you to the friendly volunteer on the top floor, really knowledgeable.

I was in the Museum buying some of their brilliant greetings cards and thought I'd get a drink, maybe something to eat. {Great selection and very helpful staff in the shop.}I walked up to the counter in the Tea Rooms and there were two people standing there, one walked off almost immediately, closely followed by the second person. The latter returned and I ordered a drinking chocolate, paid, and was told to take a seat and it would be brought to the table. A fairly ordinary chocolate drink was delivered to the table and after tasting it I was quite glad that I hadn't bothered with cake. The setting is beautiful, rather noisy but that is the fault of the high ceiling and hard surfaces, not too much of a problem if you appreciate the architecture and decoration, as I do. It's just a shame that the 'Edwardian Tea Room' doesn't have the sort of quality and service that befits it's name and venue.

We could only spend an hour here so couldn't do it justice. Some impressive works by famous artists and would like to come again. Nice cup of tea !

went to see the hoard, but enjoyed all of the museum and can recommend the Edwardian tea room! The staff are very nice and were happy to answer questions.

They have really made an effort here from what I see - there is some modern stuff with interactive exhibits as well as the more traditional . lovely cafe with big sofas

We use the gallery a lot for just visiting the main gas or attending special or one off events. The building is amazing both inside and out and the events are also fantastic value

I often pop into BMAG when I am in the city centre as there is so much to see and do in the gallery. The Victorian tea rooms are lovely and a great range of food is on offer - not to mention great tea!The exhibitions are always fascinating, and those in the Gas Hall are always worth a visit. You could quite easily spend hours here.

What a joy this museum is - the building is wonderful with the origional features retained and enhanced by good modern architecture. The Tea Rooms are excellent.Art - I limited myself to the Pre-Raphailites and the Staffordshire Hoard. The only downer was the lighting, that reflected in the paintings. I will go back to look at 16/17/18th C paintings another time.

The building itself and the surrounding area are fantastic and a credit to Birmingham council, the new link with the Museum and what will be shopping area is excellent. There are one or two toilets on each floor but some of these were broken and there are no signs so it was a problem finding one. Also the lift on the top floor was broken and the floor littered with rubbish it looked really horrible. It seems that the internal fittings wer e badly designed and not made to last. Also not enough help available

Wanted to see the Staffordshire Hoard, fantastic....the workmanship is amazing. The exhibition is laid out really well making it easy to view and enjoy. We went mid week and hit the school trips, if you want quiet leisurely time at the exhibition I would check before visiting....

It's a good free museum well worth visiting, but next time, we'll be getting there in the morning. We were asked to make our way to the exit 20 minutes before closing time, and were not able to go to the museum shop, as it closed at 4.50 pm.By 5pm the whole building was shut and locked.

The main attractions are the Pre-Raphaelites and the Staffordshire Hoard. The Edwardian Tea Room served excellent food but was rather crowded when we were there, avoid 12.30-13.30!

Stunning collections of saxon bling (Staffordshire hoard) and Pre-Raphaelite paintings. This would be enough but they've got lots of other interesting stuff too. Free but well worth the donation we gave.
