We went back 3 times trying out different trails. It is a lovely recreational area. We tried other places but this was by far our favourite. We ended up walking our legs off! Saw the gopher tortoise 3 times out sunning him or herself. We spent 7 weeks in the area so tried a lot of different recreation parks.

They have picnic tables, bathrooms, bike paths, hiking paths, river for kayaking, baseball fields, soccer fields, extra parking areas and they do not charge. MY FAVORITE PLACE TO GO!!

Awesome Trails for People and their Dogs! I love to meet up with our friends and their dogs at Halpatiokee Park to enjoy a long trail walk during the cooler Florida months. It is a blast for us and our dogs. You can do a short trail or a long trail. We usually walk about 90 minutes because we are having so much fun. The park even supplies poop bags and a garbage can at the beginning of the trail area in case you forgot yours. Even though we bring water for the dogs, they do have a hose at the closest pavillion near the trail. It is a big park with many other recreational options that includes clean bathrooms that are located at the entrance and in another area of the park. ENJOY!

I've attended many of my grandkids' soccer games at the fields and the parking is good and the restrooms are kept pretty clean.

I take my boys here a lot. There are trails that go way back. There are baseball fields, tennis courts, soccer fields, bike trails.

The place has considerable ball playing facilities and such, but the coolest part is the extensive trail system along the Lost River. Pay attention to where you are going and be prepared for a nice long walk in the Florida woods. We have seen various snakes, gopher tortoises, armadillos and the usual plethora of lizards and birds. You can also paddle the adjacent Lost River by putting in at the boat ramp visible from Kanner Highway.

A great place to get lost on a hike. Find yourself walking along the river. You may catch a glimpse of a manatee eating some of the giant ferns that grow along the bank. You may also see some otters. LOVE this place.

Wonderful park for soccer, baseball, covered picnic tables, etc. But we went there to bike ( not mountain bikes). Map from internet showed quite a few trails, some crossing others. When we got there, could not find where any bike entrance was so rode around some unnecessarily. Once we found an entrance, it was multi-use which was fine. However, there were no colored paint marks or signs to follow when a choice of trails occurred. Ended up on a very narrow ( later found out that it was one for mountain bikes and why - when we exited at another trail choice- there was a sign that said no entry. (it was so narrow two bikes could not have passed one another). Had it not been for my partner I would still be in the wood trying to find an exit. The ONLY exit sign seen was I half hour into our first trail which pointed BACK to the way we came! Multiuse trail was pretty easy to bike on; only one sandy stretch. Otherwise pretty compacted grass/sand. Found two nice lakes, a box turtle and some wild flowers on who knows what trail. Would go back if I felt I could find my way in/out!!

This park is a nice surprise for the residents of Stuart.....many walking trails and in the evening the ball parks, tennis and other sporting areas are well enjoyed. Very well maintained park that your dogs can also enjoy.....we canoed on the river and two lakes that meander thru this park and greatly enjoyed it:)

This park has a great walking trail which takes you through various terrain from oak hammocks to swampy, jungle-like areas and winds it's way along a river. Allow yourself about 1 1/2 hours for the entire hike. The park also offers many other amenities. There are soccer fields, tennis courts, roller hockey rink, pavilions, and a great off-road biking trail.

The trails are fun for bike riding with the occasional deer or otter siting.Good place to walk the dogs.

This is one of my favorite local parks. I kayak, bike ride and walk the well marked paths in this park. There is plenty of parking and the park is well maintained. There are real easy bike paths and much more difficult ones. Bring plenty of water there is no where to buy water at the park. I can spend hours here great place to get back to nature.

Any park is as good as what you make of it. Halpatiokee Park, at the Hwy 76 Exit (I-95) in Stuart, offers something for most outdoor folk: Roller Skating rink under roof with bleachers, multiple ball fields, numerous well-maintained tennis courts with on demand lights, multiple multi-use soccer/flag football fields that get lots of league use. Deeper into park are a number of covered picnic tables with grills and running water that can be reserved for group outings. Deeper still is ample parking to offload trail bicycles that provide a really good challenge and have been set up and maintained by a dedicated group of biking enthusiasts. In addition there are numerous walking/jogging trails that wind around to a surprisingly large lake. Another trail ends up at an overnight camping area (there's a posted phone number to reserve the site), with a launch ramp to bring kayaks or canoes ashore from a tributary off the south fork of the St. Lucie River. From there take a slightly marked trail back to the left for a lovely trail along the stream back to the parking lot.

We live very close to this park and it is one of our favorite places to walk in the morning. There are many trails to walk on and we see so much wildlife in the early mornings. So far we have seen white tailed deer, pesky little raccoons, a wild pig, a red headed woodpecker who loves to peck on the poles of the metal signs and makes a racket, sandhill cranes, mockingbirds, ibis, osprey and of course the playful squirrels. The park is always clean too.

This is a multi use park with everything for the sports enthusiast and nature lover. Watch a local little league or soccer game paly a set of tennis and then wrap it up with a hike, run or bike along a paved or sand nature trail. Alligators, deer and other wildlife abound. A great way to spend time with family and friends.
