Great space, fantastic architecture, well displayed exhibits, good restaurant. Got some great photos of the bridges and architecture.

We felt that what the museum lacked in the art that the two of us really care about, it made up for it by the incredible setting and the unique architecture.

Pérez Art Museum Miami's collection is comprised of contemporary international art of the 20th and 21st centuries. The Miami Museum park is a newly developing center for the arts and Perez is one of the anchors. The museum reports that in just a few months it had over 200,000 visitors--impressive start! We enjoyed the exhibit by Geoffrey Farmer called Let's Make Water turn Black. It was fun and entertaining. It has since left the museum but the selection quality of this exhibit bodes well for future exhibits. The museum does not seem to have a significant staple of well known artists in its collection of about 2000 items. However, it is expanding rapidly and in a few years will have the new large building filled and the collection will consist of more big draws to supplement the few well known artists it presently has including, Marcel Duchamp (famed conceptual surrealist) Diego Rivera (famous muralist), Frank Stella, Sanford Biggers and George Segal.Bottom line is this museum is a comer and from all appearances it will be a future winner! The Verdi restaurant in the complex needs to improve its cuisine and cooking. But I expect it will eventually also be winner.

Not only is the art museum beautiful and easy to walk and enjoy, but the outdoor deck to the east of the building is fantastic. The deck is open to anyone whether going to the museum or not. There is a cafe adjacent to the deck to get coffee, sandwiches, tea, cookies, or water. One can dine in or out. The deck is covered and boasts beautiful views of Biscayne Bay and the cruise ships as well as downtown Miami. There are Adirondeck Chairs, swinging chairs, benches, tables and chairs...in short an extremely inviting place to savor a beautiful Miami day with a beautiful Miami View. Accessable from Museum Park which was just recently completed, words do not do it justice. Accessable also from the Metro Mover by exiting at the Museum Park station. In this instance, the designers and city developers have hit a home run out of the park. One of my very favorite places in Miami. Come and sit a spell.

A beautiful museum set on the waterfront. Amazing architect and some interesting modern art. We actually found the building itself to be more interesting than the art work. Definitely worth a trip, especially on the first Saturday and Sunday of every month, when Bank of America dedit/credit cardholders receive free admission. A parking lot is available at $2 per hour.

This is a beautiful Museum. The building itself is stunning and the use of indoor and outdoor space is magnificent. The exhibits we saw were very interesting and many of the artists really made you think about their work and just how creative and talented they really are. Highly recommend a visit to this wonderful facility. The Hanging gardens are especially beautiful as you walk up from the underground parking to the mezzanine.

Beautifully located overlooking Biscayne Bay in Miami, the architecture of the museum is worth a visit. There is a nice little restaurant and an area with suspended swinging chairs where one could spend hours reading or relaxing. As far as the art is concerned, I was not in the least impressed. The only exhibit that I felt was special was the temporary one of Victoria Gitman. Her paintings are amazing. You want to touch them because they appear to be 3D.Parking is easy, location nice. Worth a visit to see the building. take the free tour, it makes a difference.

We went to fundraising party @ Perez Art Museum and was the worse experience of my life. The location is excellent but a lot of constructions around the area. During the cocktail hour not red wine available. Due to a raining night the formal dinner outside was cancelled and they moved the tables to different location. The set up without silverware, napkin, glass or cup was disappointed. They started with the main entree, cold, the salad arrived one hour later. Please never plan your event in this place.

The building and views are absolutely stunning in this large, new museum. There is a great pedestrian travel flow in the museum: even the auditorium is part of a pass-through on stairs from the ground floor to the second floor. There are both permanent collections and temporary exhibits, with everything from floor-to-ceiling works, to multimedia installations, to paintings of all sizes. Rooms are by themes rather than by countries or chronology. The labels in the rooms are detailed and thorough and are helpful to gaining an understanding of the artist and the works. We took an excellent docent tour and gained valuable insights into works that led us to appreciate and understand them more. We enjoyed the restaurant and the gift shop. Our only complaint was that the underground parking flooded in the rain while we were there and we had to walk through puddles to get to our car. In most cases, no expense was spared to make this an outstanding museum, so the poor parking condition was an anomaly.

I liked the convenience to get there: car, free metro mover, walking, etc. The location itself is a work of art. Worth visiting!

I was excited to see Perez Art Museum, as it is highly recommended in all travel guides. The building itself is very impressive, every museum would be delighted to have such.On the other hand the collections were just average, not edgy. I could probably name just one piece of art that made a certain impact on me.So its good for killing your time, but probably lying on the beach would do better.

Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is located in a new very impressive building facing Biscayne Bay in Miami, FL - The Views from the outside terrace in the back are incredibly beautiful. I visited out of curiosity since I am not a fan of modern art, but I can tell you I truly enjoyed the exhibits on display at that time. Every second saturday of the month the museum offers free admission to the public. Although you can always visit the courtyard in the back of the museum for free, as it is open to the public. If visiting Miami, this could be a nice little stop to enjoy a couple of hours.

The view is outstanting from the patio, where you can enjoy an outstanding lunch while enjoying the view of Biscayne Bay. The exhibits are eclectic and a visit to the gift shop is a must.

A stunning new building and they spared no expense on the materials. We had lunch first - the food was surprising good and not expensive - our server couldn't have been nicer- there were several groups of seniors on an "outing" enjoying them selves - not sure what they thought of the art- I'm no art critic but some of it was just banal - the only two rooms we liked were a very inventive mix media Monty Pythonish exhibit and the collection of works by Pollack Wharhol Johns and others of the AE movement / lots of related construction still going on - so the expanded site is a very great addition to Miami's cultural sceneWorth the trip!

The Perez Art Museum is housed in an extremely impressive facility that is easy to get to. It is worth going to, but I have to say that many of the pieces of art on display were not something my wife or I could relate to. While we have been to major fine art museums around the world, contemporary art is not our strong suit. We felt the same thing about the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. So maybe it's us. Having said this, there were two pieces currently on display that particularly struck us. One was the sculpture of Abraham's farewell to his son Ishmael, and the other was the funerary bronze sculpture of two women called "Memorial to a Marriage". Sorry I can't remember the names of the artists, but the pieces left lasting impressions. We saw pieces that contained social commentary, but little was great art.
