We took our visiting family there to check it out. Locals doing the tourist thing. Even though they had ended their 'tours' one of the guys was very nice and took us down to the underside to give us a look at the machinery that ran the mill. He stayed with us for a long time answering questions. We learned all about the restoration, the shingles made for the Bryant House restaurant, and the history. We also had a nice visit with Dave the tinsmith. What an interesting place. I left with a handful of tin ornaments for our Christmas tree.

To view the mill in action with the corn dropping down onto the grind stones and ending up as power or corn meal.

Met the man who works there with tin and runs the museum. What a sweetheart as were all the local folks - not like here where people put their heads down to avoid eye contact. He told us all about himself and his work - has had pieces on the White House Christmas trees - Reagan and Clinton! He told us about the devastation from Hurricane Irene and many other interesting things. Of course hubby loves that stuff. Great little museum and wonderful people running it.

We got a private tour from one of the locals and it was very interesting. It was only days after Hurricane irene and it scary to see just how high the water had risen. Very informative especially for a first time visitor.
