mad river museum

Very much worth a detour. Located close to Fostoria. Many coaches and cars - not so many locomotives. Many small item collections that you can spent hours looking at. In the summer the outdoor coaches get VERY warm. Very much recommended for a rainy or grey day.

I got to check out the museum on Saturday. It was close to closing time so we didn't get to stand around and read like I like to at museums. It took an hour to walk through all the trains and buildings. I loved looking at all of the antiques inside the trains and the interior of some of the trains themselves. The staff is friendly and make it easy to tour the place even if they are just before closing. They let us walk through each train before they locked it. I feel like I have to return so that I may read and wander without feeling rushed. It is really a neat place not far from Lake Erie.
