It is a very small area. It's a bunch of rocks/pebbles "glued" together to make small buildings and statues. Since it was on our route we stopped by but definitely not worth driving 3 blocks out of the way. There was a surprisingly professional brochure and map.

This is an amazing place. I can't believe I had never been there before and living so close..... You will be in awe of it.

This is a treasure! Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, learned a lot. Was a joy to see all the hard work and love put into the garden.

The rock garden looks like a hobby that got out of control. If you are in Springfield, Ohio it is worth seeing, but i wouldn't travel to see it. The fee is by voluntary donation.

This was a great little stop. The grounds are meticulously kept and a lot of the rock garden has recently been re-done. An intriguing piece of true American folk art to say the least. Definitely worth the stop- lots to see and find. Loved reading the brochure as well, which explained a lot of the pieces.

This is in a person's back yard so it was a little weird at first. But has been there since my mother was a kid. The stone work with all the pebbles is amazing. So much to see and kids loved pointed out stuff. They had soldiers and animals in nooks and crannies inside each little scene. Such a "must see" in Springfield.

Unbelievable that this is just in someone's backyard -- truly a folk art wonderland. Abe Lincoln's cabin in stone, the Battle of Flanders Field in stone, the Last Supper in stone! A joyous union of religious belief, political fervor, historical fascination, and beguiling fantasy. Well worth a stop.

This amazing folk art site is located on the south side of Springfield, Ohio in a residential neighborhood. It is a small world unto itself embracing history, pop culture, religion and Americana. The Garden is open dawn to dusk, 365 days a year, and admission is free. Our kids were completely enthralled by the Garden.

Very glad we stopped to see this rock garden. The story behind it is inspiring. Be sure to pick up the brochure for it maps out and explains all the structures. We stayed awhile as we discovered we were missing things with our first walk through

Love this!!! Learned about it from a friend and couldn't believe I had never heard about it. So great for Kohler Foundation to help save things like this. Another similar experience an hour away is Loveland Castle. Both are just great examples of one person leaving a legacy.

Oh, my. A family had the vision to make this type of a garden in a neighbor - unbelievable!!!!! This is an 'American Folk Art Site' and worth the visit. Ben Hartman created this garden out of cement, concrete, metal and stone. One will view 'The White House' to "The Little Church Around the Corner (Church of Transfiguration in NYC).....My favorite was the 'Maxwell Coffee Cup & Sauce'.

To think someone did this makes it worthy of a stop. In all fairness when we went it was still under reconstruction where neighbor kids and other vandels took there turns. I was glad to see it was being restored. We'll try to make another stop this spring. If you're in Springfield, give a look. It'll be a memory

This was a free quick stop to look around. They accept donations, so bring a couple of bucks to put in.

Due to a longer drive than expected we didn't get to this until just before dark. We didn't want to disturb the family that lives there so we just glanced over the fence from our car.It looked like it would be interesting. It's tall, much higher than the fence surrounding it. The neighborhood was not the safest and we didn't want to be there at night.

The Rock Garden is a very interesting place to walk around. It's great to see the art and to realize how much time and care went into creating this piece of folk art. I'd plan on only a half hour to an hour for this trip. The caretakers have done a nice job of upkeep.
