My family and I have hiked many of the great trails. There are small loops and interpretative trails for the young (my 3 and 5 year old girls do just fine) to long and harder hikes that can take from a few hours to half a day or more. Plenty of great views all round. Grab a map and plan out your day!

Great place to take a little hike especially if you have a dog(s) or even kids over 5. I really didn't pay much attention to the labels on the trees but the trees themselves are beautiful, and having recently moved from the East Coast it was a great experience.

Peavy is a great place to take an easy hike and close to lots of other trails in McDonald Forest. The Arboretum portion is pretty simple, maybe even boring for those more forest savvy but nice for those with kids. Area is okay for a casual ride but if you want some more serious biking head up to McDonald forest above.Worth the visit.

Wonderful trails to hike and bike. Love the loggers section which displays logger games. Lots of parking.

Not the most scenic hikes, but we learned to identify different trees. Close to town and easy to get to.

the arboretum itself has nice trails but the labeling of trees is redundant and not terribly exciting...other arboretums are better specialized...come here for the hiking, not the arboretum

My wife and I like to hike around especially on weekend. This place has a lot of nice trails, info for the curious. Trails are long enough but not over exerting. Well kept.

Enjoyed a hike at Lewisburg Saddle Loop. Included interesting plantings from the University Botany group. Short drive from downtown Corvallis.

Lovely place to explore nature. Lots of trails out to the McDonald Forest. There's a meadow, pond, event space, etc.Great place for people of all ages.

The trails are diverse. You can pick a flat path thru a path with identification markers close to the parking lot or you can hike the more challenging trails. Maps are usually available at the main parking kiosk and will aid your hike. The trials are marked but it is best to take along a map. You can choose from an hour hike to an all day affair. Just remember to bring a snack, water and prepare for weather changes. If there have been rains of late, plan for possible muddy trails. However you can stay on the gravel roads which will bring you to the lake and return you to another parking log close to the kiosk. Portable bathrooms are available. Plan on bringing you refuse with you as there is not garbage pick. (Pack it in and pack it out with you). In the spring the flowers are amazing and in the fall the colors are superb. Have fun.

Peavy Arboretum, located just north of Corvallis, offers a wide range of well maintained trails. They range from "flat" and short (.5 miles) to hilly and 5-6 miles. The area is open year round so viewing the seasonal changes is a delight. There are visitor guides with maps available at the trailheads. Whether you want a simple walk or a vigorous hike, this is the place to go.

Peavy is an entrance point for many miles of trails and forest roads. OSU recreation staff have made an enormous effort lately to upgrade the signage, and the trails are in excellent shape. Maps are available online and at the trailheads. Hikers/bikers/runners tend to disperse throughout the many trails, and you often have the trails to yourself. This is a local treasure of Corvallis, and very much adds to the quality of life here. Very easy, close, outdoor access.

Highly recommend this place. We were there in the Fall so the colors were stunning. Several different trails, a lake, logging training areas, beautiful paths, an old ranch house, lots of places for photo ops. Take a picnic lunch, and enjoy the beauty of the area. Dogs are welcomed and do not have be on leash as long as they are under voice control. Our boy loved bounding through the trees and pathways circling back to be with us pokey humans.

Not that Corvallis is a throbbing metropolis, but this is one of many local spaces to get outside, have some fresh air, quiet and alone time without donning the heavy hiking boots and taking along equipment.

Peavy is part of the OSU forest system. You can do a short little 15 minute hike, have a picnic, or get lost through the trails for hours. I suggest getting a map and bring water.
