We love stopping by this park several times a year and watching the big horn sheep. Take a little picnic, watch the baby and momma sheep. There have been a few times we have not seen any sheep, early February there wasn't a sheep in sight, but Mid December there were males and females, roaming around, and munching on grass. Several rams were up in the small hills above the park, and we got to watch them pick their way down the hills back into the park. In early November there were several females and younger sheep. We played with our little people on the large playground also in this park. Along with a tennis area, there is several activities to keep different ages busy. The gazebo is a great place to have a little lunch. A very nice place to take a walk with great views. Like with any wild animal caution is in order. I have seen several people get too close and act stupid. There are bathroom facilities on sight. Parking can be challenging, the lot is very small and not for large vehicles. There is on street parking for large vehicles.

This is a great park to stop and have a picnic while watching the big horn sheep eat, sleep and sometimes play. The younger ones butting heads testing their mettle. While they not be there everyday you might find them down near the highway or up above the houses.

We went 1/27/2015 and no rams were to be found. The sign at the park states that the rams stay up in the mountains until the vegetation is scorched. The mountain there are real rocky so I am assuming in the late spring and summer the vegetation is no more on the mountain so they come down to the park which is probably watered. However, pretty little park and great view of Lake Mead. Plus, the big homes in the neighborhood surrounding the park are also something to drive around and see.

We were dropped off at this park at the end of a very eventful day with Desert Adventures, kayaking twelve miles down Black Canyon from the Hoover Dam to Willow Beach. The trailer carrying the kayaks burst a tire and the fellow driving our van had to go back to help, so we were deposited in this park for over an hour in mid August. It was wonderful until the mosquitoes started coming out, as evening approached. So, if you are here on a summer evening, do bring mosquito spray. There is a nice playground for children, a covered gazebo with picnic tables and one bench out in the field. If you are taking pictures, the bench is the best place to be sitting when you aim your camera.I found not only the flock of bighorn sheep to be amazing, but also the views of Lake Mead. The shots I got looked like a gorgeous picture postcard, with the grazing sheep in the foreground and the gorgeous aquamarine Lake Mead in the background.

The Desert Big Horn sheep were eating the grass on the playing field in the park. They were all males. They decided to walk up the hill and I sat very still. They walked right by the cars to the upper area. I am telling you, there were at least 30 sheep of all ages. I never saw one before. It is also free, since they are wild and can go where ever they like.

Nice park overlooking Lake Mead. My husband and I drove out to the park the other morning around 10:30; parked just off the street and there were nearly 40 Bighorn sheep just nibbling on the grass or laying on the grass not more than 15 feet away! We just sat there in the car and watched them and enjoyed their antics!

We've stayed at the hotel across the street for many years and it's been hit and miss to see the big horn sheep, but the park is so close to the freeway it's worth a quick check to see if they are there. Unfortunately they have become so comfortable with humans that it takes away from the whole experience...but still cool to see them up close.

We found this place through Trip Advisor & our tour guides at Flightlinez. It was so neat to see the sheep in this setting. You can see that the land the park is on, has been theirs for a long time & I'm so glad the park has allowed them to stay. It takes a couple of minutes. Not far off the road on the way to the Hoover Dam.

what an awesome area to get up close and personal with a herd of big horn sheep...Fantastic photo opportunities and seeing the behavior of the sheep was very educational as well...

Thankfully they let you park near the end of the boat launch so you don't have a huge hike to your car after launch. They have (formerly) floating restrooms nearby for easy usage.

Lovely park to have a picnic, or family gathering. Great views of Lake Mead and the local Big Horn sheep herd!

We went on a tour of Hoover Dam. On the way back to Las Vegas, our tour guide Mark stopped here so we could observe the herd of big-horned sheep. My wife was able to get very close to them.

Excellent place to get photos of big horn sheep. Be patient, sit still, and let the big horns graze. The quieter you are the closer they will come, then carefully and slowly take photos. I really dislike people who try to approach these wild animals, and scare them away!

We came here based on a recommendation from our campground host. We arrived in the early evening and there were sheep everywhere! Couldn't believe we could just have a picnic with big horn sheep around. Really cool!
