There are many historic Pahrump Valley buildings and other important artifacts in the yard. Particularly neat is the small exhibition plot of cotton growing in season, as is the interesting and informative lecture series on many Saturday's @ 1:00 p.m.

Great place to spend an afternoon reading up on all the history of Pahrump. The buildings outside are awesome too!

My wife and I did the water Jet Pack ride. It ROCKS!The instructors were way cool and so helpful. What a sensation! We had a blast and sat on the beach afterwards watching others and swimming.We recommend it 100% and only 50 minutes west of Vegas. Watched the car amnd motorcycle racing there also.Great spot. Then a delicious steak at The Nugget Casino.After that we retired to our comfy, super affordable Spring Mountain Casino.Great weekend.

A small local Museum to give you a good idea about Pahrump and enviroment, it gives you a good idea how it used to be her. Nice staf!

Part of my career was as a technical writer and typos jump off the page at me (unless it is my writing of course) its a gift and a curse. I noticed two typos on the little typed cards, but didn't allow it to spoil my visit. I saw my first picture of Abe Lincoln without his beard and learned the story of why he grew it! The building is clean and lacks the musty smell many museums have. As a disabled person I would have appreciated some benches to rest on.

Very interesting museum portraying the history of Pahrump. There is also a great section on the Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste Repository. Their collection of old building such as the school house is interesting. Also a neat Lincoln Room. Volunteers are very friendly and dedicated. We have attended several lectures there by experts on various topics in the local area.

Loved the unique School House, the Lincoln Room TO DIE FOR!! One of The neatest Museums Ive ever been too. lots & Lots of History of the beautiful town of Pahrump pu pump Pum!!

Ok, the museum is not on par with the Smithsonian, but then again, only the elite snob would expect that from a community of only 38,000 people. I admit, I am a history buff and I liked this local museum. They have a great section on the Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste Repository which is very educational. The main area has a diverse selection of historic articles which is very interesting for us old guys who actually used some of those devices. They also sport a small room which can best be described as a memorial to President Abraham Lincoln. The historical society has been collecting old buildings from the Pahrump area, restoring them and furnishing them with displays from the era. I reward their efforts with a four star rating because it is important to see what a small group of dedicated citizens can do in developing an interesting museum in a small community.

This is good testimonial to the history of our valley, but it's done up nicely and a wide variety of exhibits. It was good for us "newbies" to learn about our new digs! The outdoor buildings need to be seen in the am when it's cool now that it's summer, but the indoor exhibits are well worth taking the time to see. We have been there 3 times and I still find things I haven't seen before!

Some local history, a work in progress that will only keep getting better!I gave it 4 stars due to 1 its FREE just a donation if you like to...and 2 Pahrump is a small town, something like this doesn't get huge funding, so the fact that it exists at all is great ... there's a bunch of neat old artifacts from early 1900s to check outside, along with the old Pahrump General store which was moved here .. don't expect the Museum of Natural History Washington DC or anything... the kids will enjoy it for a bit and the staff is friendly....3 if you want it to be better.... donate something that you think would make it BETTER....or don't complain...

We pulled up at the museum on New Year's Day thanks to TA looking simply for somewhere to park off the road and make a quick sandwich en route from Stovepipe Wells to Boulder City. Wandered in without expecting much at all - Pahrump is a little bit underwhelming - only to find a one of those wonderfully random assortment of items and displays that we love in small, non-profit local museums. The lady on the desk was warm, welcoming and very informative (who knew such a harsh and bony looking area had acquifers generous enough to support cropping and farming?) and we were astonished to learn of the proposed Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository.A lot of unpaid work has gone and is still going into this place and it's a credit to those involved. We enjoyed it very much and left with a bit of insight into a place we would otherwise have not paid any attention to on our journey.

the museum is wonderful inside but do not miss the outside either. Be sure walk around all the attractions outside. The buildings are excellent replicas and informative to see and experience.

This compact but still growing museum contains a wide-ranging insight into what made the Pahrump Valley what it is today.Pahrump's agriculture included cotton production....not something one would expect in a desert location. A look into small manufacturing and bottling operations is offered. The connection the valley has with mining operations (past and present) is addressed. Many specimens and artifacts have been gathered and put on display for viewers to study and digest. A small house is next to the museum building which depicts life as it was lived in earlier times.A pleasant way to learn about the life and times of earlier Pahrump settlers.

A nice way to spend an hour or two, this pleasant, albeit limited, museum, provided a bit of local history. Our visit was admittedly just looking for something to do (not a lot of options in the area on a very hot Saturday) but we did enjoy it. The only downside was that we discovered that we have been around long enough that about half the items we had used and even owned in years past!
