My kids are 8 and 9, and they were bored here. The play area is really beautiful and interesting, and it did hold their interest for a very short time; they liked the animal statues and the canoe. However, the statues were too hot to sit on, and there were no swings or anything. They were bored after about 10 minutes.

There is not a whole lot to do here but my kids seem to like it. When walking from the campsite through Linden Field to downtown my kids like race to the playground and go down the roller slide and meet us at the other end. Its great for when the day starts overcast and you dont want to head to the beach yet.

Nice little park for kids, chances to climb, and a little history lesson about the local indians. Parking can be a litle tight on busy, sunny days. Also a bigger park next to it and just a short walk to the beach.

My 2 and 5 year old LOVE this play area! They could happily spend hours there. I really appreciate it being fenced in, smartest thing ever in a playground. Lots of great landscaping and seating for the parents. Large field beside it, great for a picnic. Beach right down the street. The play area itself is like a little history lesson of a Chumash Indian village with 'waterfall' slides, 'rock' tunnels, village huts and a rainbow bridge. Its certainly a fun twist on the regular old park visit. We come and play as often as we can. There is places to buy food and snacks across the street and bathroom facilities down towards the beach within walking distance. So, if you are exploring Carpin

This park is a small, object filled area. The best is that the parkmis adjacent to a large, grassy field. The down sides of this park, directly next to train tracks and main street with traffic, noise, dust, dirt. Children enjoyed climbing around, but got bored quickly, and little one frightened by train going by so close. We went to far side of grass by State Park car lot, more fun running around, playing tag. Beach is close by so park will be off our list. Just not a comfortable place for mine troop.

I had my three grandkids for a weekend. I wanted to take them to the best beach in California. Once they finished playing in the sandy beach we walked maybe 100 yds. to this wonderful playground. My youngest granddaughter age 18mths loved going down the slide that has rollers that must of been a great massage. The seal and dolphin looked so real on pictures everyone thought they were really close. Loved this place, and plan on bringing the whole family soon.

This is a newer play area to Carpinteria and it's awesome. The play area is awesome for children. It is well landscaped and maintained with benches for adults to sit on. Plus, is near a park, the beach, campgrounds and eateries in Carpinteria.

We camped at Carpinteria State Beach campgrounds and this play area was right next to our campsite. Our children, ages 6, 4, and 1, sometimes preferred to come here over the beach. Great opportunities for them to explore and use their imaginations. They especially loved climbing up to the bald eagle and riding in the canoe. Very well designed!

Our toddler enjoyed this outdoor play area that's fenced in, close to the beach, & next to a huge grassy park area. It was a safe area that has a rubber ground with plenty of cushion that kids can run around on, climb rocks, go down slides, & make new friends! All of the parents enjoyed meeting, talking, & watching all of the children play as well. :)

The Tomol Interpretive Play Area has a trail to the Carpinteria State Beach. The play ground opened in June 2011. Fantastic place for kids! I always look at a playground through an educator's eyes and this kid friendly park was full of learning opportunities. Slides, animals to climb on, climbing hill, canoe... We had lunch at The Spot.

I could not believe how close this was to our campsite, the kids really enjoyed it!
