草地可以看到周围的雪山,旁边小溪潺潺,时而有鹿和松鼠在四处奔跑觅食,很有生机,优山美地不但有瀑布,有攀岩,还有这样生机勃勃的场面,让人流连忘返。

I guess it's busy because it's beautiful. The meadows in Yosemite are fantastic and this is one of the best. It isn't that hard to find some space to yourself, but there are better placed to really get away from it all.Wildlife abundant, including coyotes by the roadside.

As we were driving around the park we stopped at the overlook . The area is nice and scenic with snow covered mountain tops in the background.

We visited in the fall when it was quiet and peaceful and it was so beautiful - especially at sunset - that words cannot describe it.

We had gone to the valley a couple of years previously and thoroughly enjoyed it. But this time, we had to go through the Tioga Pass en route from East to West on our tour. The pass itself was stunning but when we reached the Meadows, we asked for advice at the ranger station about where to go to eat our lunch. He suggested Pothole Dome which is reached by a short walk from the road and which not only offers 360 degree views around the immediate area but right over the park as far as Half Dome. Absolutely stunning.

The meadows are pretty to see and walk through. Hard to imagine such a beautiful sight at such an elevation. The air is very clean and pure at that elevation and it is a sight to behold.

Coming from England it is hard to imagine a park the size of Yosemite and the beauty just goes on & on and the Tuolumne Meadows is another little gem of somewhere to visit.Camping, hiking, a gentle stroll or just a drive through, this place has something for everyone.Blue skies, clean air, majestic views, nature doesn't get much better than this.

We were lucky and made it up there between road closures. The air is heavenly and we even had snow on the side of the road.Hike up in Tuolomene meadows, the Lyell canyon area, it is easy and beautiful and we were the only ones there!

The Tuolumne Meadows High Country Camp is filled with wonderful trails and the country up there is beautiful. We stayed up there in early Sept. in tents, and it got really, really cold at night. If you like being up in the wilderness and sleeping in tents which go for about $130 a night, then this place is for you. The campsite has a very short season because of weather conditions (mid-June to mid-Sept.), and they fill quickly each season. The tents come equipped with a small wood burning stove with firewood (make sure the ash is cleaned out of it or you won't be able to start up a fire in the cold mornings & make sure the wood they provide you with actually fits into the tiny stoves! And gets lots of kindling!). Also included in the tents are beds, bedding, & blankets (but bring a good sleeping bag because you'll need it) & towels for showering in a very small communal bathhouse with no heat so the best time for showers is in the early afternoons. Their onsite "restaurant" provides breakfast & dinner (with boxed lunches) which are pricey for what you are getting, and you won't necessarily get your own table to eat at as they have mostly tables for 8. So, if this sounds like the place for you, book early. It was not the place for me! Oh, I forgot to mention that you need to put any foods you might have in bear-proof storage units which are out in their parking lot. And during big rainstorms, there can be really heavy amounts of water running through the camp from the run-off from the mountains .

The meadows are beautiful in every season. As important, they are the gateway to several wonderful walks, hikes, or backpacks. The camp area is so pretty on the banks of the river, but in summer, bring bug juice.

When you go to Yosemite, be sure to drive out to Tuolumne Meadows. It's a beautiful time of year right now when the leaves are turning!

We drove through Tuolumne Meadows on our way out of Yosemite after a three day visit. I regret that we didn't have time to stop an explore this beautiful area. Will almost certainly have to visit again. The ranger centre is a good place to stop for information and souvenirs.

This is an easy walk from Yosemite Falls shuttle stop or stop (11?) Right at Swinging Bridge (a long bridge that does not swing, but it beautiful) you can cut down onto the beach of the river. The view here is amazing. We sat here for a while with a duck who followed us around (we were not feeding it, it just liked us I guess). Seriously, the view is from a magazine sitting in front of this river.

As I notice the mostly 5 ratings, I sometimes wonder just who are the less than 1% of people who rate a place like this as average? Are they just really that hard to please, or do they live in the Swiss Alps somewhere? At any rate, this is one of my favorite places to stop and see when I go through Yosemite Park. While I prefer seeing other parts of the park, this is always worth a stop. Don't just jump out of the car beside the road. Plan to take an hour or two and walk through the area. You might just be amazed at what you find along the way. A refreshing and relaxing place to be at any time of the year.
