This is a beautiful park with a lot of grassy area for a picnic, and outdoor small stage, a fountain area with a lot of birds, baseball fields, and a rock and flower garden! I found the rock garden to be my favorite spot. There are a lot of little paths to take and a variety of flowers. Even being there in very early spring, things were still in bloom.

This is a huge park, with baseball and soccer fields, the Sacramento Zoo, Fairytale Town, and many open grassy areas. Also Land Park Golf Course. Lots of barbeque areas. Many groups actually reserve areas for use for family gatherings. Parking is a challenge, but everyone loves Land Park.

William Land Park is a delightful spot in central Sacramento. Surrounded by a lovely neighborhood the park boasts many amenities including a fine zoo, a literary based theme park for children, pony rides and an amusement park for younger children. Add in beautiful gardens, an amphitheater for Shakespeare plays in summer and a new year-round farmers market. This park has such variety even a 9 hole golf course and large ponds with resident ducks and plenty of trails and sidewalks for strolling. A great family gathering spot. And if you are in the mood to volunteer you can help with park stewardship most of the year on the first Saturday of the month when the Land Park Volunteer Corps is active.

This is one of my favorite parks in the City of Sacramento. As a former City parks and recreation employee, I know that our City has a lot of wonderful parks. But, this one has a special place in my heart. It has so many amenities. And, there are so many special spots. The Zoo and Fairytale Town are obvious. But, be sure to check out the rock garden which is nice place to retreat.

William Land Park offers a lot of attractions - from the zoo to Fairy Tale Town to the golf course to the amphitheater. It's a large area and feeds a lot of needs. But what we go there for is the bird watching. We've seen Varied Thrushes, Merlins, Yellow shafted Northern Flickers and Red-tail hawks just to name a few. A walk around the park ponds will also show you good close views of Wood duck. If you are a birder this park is a must. Come early before the crowds show up and be amazed at the birds.

Beautiful, spacious park in the middle of town. Take advantage of the zoo and Fairytale Town. Good for all ages. Bring the whole family and enjoy the outdoors.

Thge park is very large with plenty to do, It has two golf courses , a Zoo, and a kids place called Fairytale town, there is plenty of space to play, and to have a picnic with your family, get there early am to stake a spot. The out side edges of the park there is a running track, lots to do

I drive past Land Park frequently. It is a nice area of Sacramento and IX an area that is family friendly with picnic tables in the Park,ca golf course, pony rides, and smaller amusement rides. The Zoo is within walking distance as is Fairytale Town. A WPA garden is in the vicinity with flowers, bushes, succulents, and shrubs for every season in the year. There is also a duck pond and natural amphitheater nearby. If you have a family with small children, obviously a good place to wander through and decide which part you want to visit.

Well, I'm partial since I live a block away. I enjoy every morning walking around our beautiful park. So lucky to have it right here. And the kids love the zoo and Fairytale Town. Visitors to Sacramento will enjoy this venue

Land Park is a great example of a philanthropic period of U.S. history. I can't imagine what this area would be like without this lovely parcel of stately trees, ponds, and lawn. The City and volunteer groups have managed to keep this vast paradise clean, green, and pristine. It's a park for everyone: golfers, kids (zoo, ponds, ponies, Fairytale Town), families, theatre junkies, picnickers, joggers, walkers, photographers, gardeners. etc. It's always shady and you will smell a slight scent of eucalyptus in the air. Maybe it's not Central Park or Golden Gate Park, but it's darn close.

Been here many times. It's a popular park for walking, jogging, etc with baseball fields, and various fitness stations (monkey bars for pull ups etc) scattered throughout the park. There is a kid playground that is gated and a restroom nearby. Shady and nice for gatherings. They have fixed up the 2 ponds and the area near the zoo so it's looking nice. Around the stage area, is the rock garden, the Zoo and Fairytale Town. Some of the park is used as a golf course so watch where you walk.

With my daughter moving to Sacramento and living across from the park, I took a leisurely early morning stroll through Land Park. The park is full of joggers and walkers though the morning and evening rush on Sutterville Road headed towards Interstate 5 does introduce an urban flavor. The park itself is very extensive and managed to stay green through the drought. Right next door is the Sacramento Zoo and an amusement park. If you are looking for relaxation, grabbing some food to go and picnicking and walking through Land Park may not be a bad idea!

This really is a huge park with ponds (not worthy of fishing in for us), picnic areas, golf course, fairy tale land, zoo and small amusement park. Big plus is parking is free which we found to be rare in California. Nice way to spend a couple of hours with the kids.

The park covers an area of at least a square mile and walking through the park you can almost forget that you are in an urban setting. There are at least two lakes, a municipal golf course, walking trails and numerous picnic facilities as well as a small performance center. We missed it but there is also Shakespeare in the park in late July. Walkers and joggers are everywhere throughout the day and it is a beautiful park setting. . .
