Spent the afternoon just driving around Bodega Bay. Drive here and parked. Went and sat on the rocks looking over the beautiful water. Didn't see any whales but lots of seals swimming around.

Open air! Could be WINDY! Outstanding view of the ocean (from parking lot or the beach). Rock climb if you are careful (not the vertical cliff face stuff), or hike down to the beach!

Lots of parking and easy walking to see the views. Many areas to pull over to view the harbor areas. ADA trail near the bathrooms that leads to the headlands. Other views in and around the parking lot. Several traild also to try. Well worth your time.

Even on an overcast and somewhat foggy day, the park and its many breath-taking viewpoints are well worth the visit. There are lots of trails, some wheelchair accessible, that can make for several hours of great sightseeing.

Views are amazing. PleAse be careful if you have small children. Steep cliffs and no barriers. Great spot for whale watching?

Once you arrive in the parking lot and get out of your vehicle, it is really easy to see why this spot is so special. The views from here are outstanding and if you are lucky at the right time of the year, you might spot whales in the Pacific Ocean in their yearly migration. I have been lucky enough to see whales twice this month from Bodega Head. If the weather is inclement, you can stay in your car while enjoying the serenity of the ocean. There are trails that you can take for further beautiful views as well as to go down to the beach. I have done both and just love this location. This is a nice place to take seniors and small children, as you do not have to do a lot of walking unless you want to do so. The views are outstanding and once you come back down towards the Marina from Bodega Head, there is excellent WiFi, so you can get email and post photos online.

The beach is about a mile plus off the beaten path past the Marina. It's a great place to view the whales. I saw the them in the distance and then walked the cliff trails. Beautiful scenery. Great place to take in the view.

I've been going to bodega head for 28 years. I was 4 days old my first time there. I loved it as a child and now I love to take my children. The view is always priceless. And the view is where you park, which is AWESOME for thoes days when the wind is to cold and you can just lean your seat back a lil and enjoy the view from inside your warm car. The trail to the beach below required a bit of balancing since the log stairs that have knotted ropes through the sides were free standing in places where the sand had shifted out from under them through the years. But that's all part of the adventure. The beach is a smallish secluded area. Big enough to explore and run crazy around, yet small enough to keep a desent eye on the kids. If never gone there with out venturing over to the fallen tree which made the perfect little elf house (as it is famous for being called in my family). Seal rock is, well usually a nice place to finds the seals. As long as you keep an eye on any kids and animals you might have with you, if always had an awesome time. Bodega head is a must go to place.

Spent a couple hours here and enjoyed it immensely! Hiked the circle route around the headlands. Spectacular scenery, cliffs, crashing waves, whales spotted, deer seen, birds everywhere! Many people showed up just before sunset to take in the view as the sun sets!

It gets a bit crowded in the afternoon for parking. The trails were nice to walk around and same with the atmosphere. I liked how you can get to the beach and also climb the rocks. We also were able to see some whales migrating! So that was exciting. Wish we had more time here to walk everywhere. A place I would go back to.

A trip to Bodega Head is a great way to spend a day. The views are spectacular, the trails are easy, and there is plenty of wildlife to observe. The whales were far off shore when we visited in January, but one of the regular visitors told us that during the spring, the mothers and babies swim a lot closer to shore. The Pelicans were quite close, but to enjoy viewing the whales and seals binoculars were necessary. On the way, stop at the bay, to take a look at the "hole in the head". There are photos and a brief history of the site. Years ago, PG&E had intended to build a nuclear reactor on the site. Because of the earthquake danger, that plan was abandoned, and the hole that had been dug is now a beautiful pond. We had lunch at the Tides Restaurant. Definitely not the place to go if you are not a seafood lover. Next time we visit, I'll pack a picnic lunch.

The drive through Bodega Bay is pleasant, yet does not prepare you for the sight of the Majestic Pacific right around the bend. The sight of the pristine and non-crowded beaches lures you in and it's no surprise to find yourself wading into shallow waters at the shoreline. The waves crashing into the cliffs are a sight to hear and see, so please do bring a camera (for a picture is always worth a thousand words). A light jacket and sunglasses will shield your body from the chill of the big winds and comfortable walking shoes will be sufficient for a light exploration along the shore. We arrived late in the afternoon, so parking was readily available. The restrooms however, have no lighting, so it's best to use them before dusk.

Hiking along Bodega Head was very scenic, you walk along the cliffs and the views are great. We saw seals and whales in the ocean and hiked down to the beach. Be sure to bring your camera as there are some great views. Restrooms are located in the parking lot but nothing else. A definite if you are visiting Bodega Bay.
