I took Raft Guide Training through the Outdoor Adventure Center so that I could also raft guide at an adventure company I was hired by elsewhere, and loved it!As a professional class, Blaire, Justin, and Bill as well as the rest of the OAC crew are extremely experienced, very effective trainers, and make the material (much/most of which was new) extremely easy to understand and with opportunity to practice. We spend the majority of the time on the river practicing skills or actively working on key aspects of guiding, from rescue, to raft control, to working with clients. The following summer as a first year raft guide, I felt extremely prepared and was very successful, largely on the basis of the instruction I had received through the OAC.As a week of rafting, this class was super fun! Great community, awesome food (Bryce is the bomb!), and friendly staff from the first day to the last. It's a place I felt welcome and am excited to get back to once I'm back in state. If you have any interest in learning to guide rafts, either commerically or just so you can take your friends or buddies down, this is an awesome way to make sure you can crush it (and do it safely!) or just as a way to pick up a lot of relevant rafting skills. Have already recommended it to many people, and there's no place I would recommend more.

I was very impressed with Outdoor Adventures, it was my first time water rafting and they definitely took plenty of time to review all the basics and get us outfitted appropriately. The guides were really fun and had a great time as well. The whole day went super smoothly, from showing up and getting ready to go, to coming back to a delicious steak lunch and eating out on the patio by the river. I would definitely go back on another tour!

I went with my family on the Wenatchee River with our fantastic guide, Kaitlin! We enjoyed a day of fun rapids and great conversation! The tour was easy to book and the Center was great!

Three of us scheduled this three-hour kayaking trip offered with a Groupon discount. We had a fabulous time! Two of us were relative beginners, while our third was a fairly experienced outdoor sportsman. Our guide "Dorito Dan" (alliterative food preferences helped us to remember the names of everyone in our party!) was an experienced and informative guide, giving us adequate instruction plus encouragement for the newbies. He even stopped 30 minutes in to check the group for growing blisters (I had two!), and he patched me up to prevent them from developing further. Also, when I had issues with shoulder strain, Dan offered tips to twist and engage my abdominals for a stronger stroke, which was easier on my shoulders and far more successful than my previous stylings. Our tour was a dream. We had near-perfect weather, 70s and sunny, and Dan gave us all kinds of information about the islands and wildlife. We were fortunate enough to venture out when the harbor seals were raising new seal cubs, so we stopped our kayaks and silenced our speech. Within minutes, curious seal cub heads popped out of the water to take in the strange humans. An amazing and beautiful experience! While we newbies have a bit of soreness, it was a wonderful day of family teamwork, nature spotting and taking in the natural beauty of the area. Highly recommend!

I took the ACA swift-water level 4 class with OAC and learned a lot. If you canoe, kayak, raft, or SUP on rivers with rapids, you owe it to yourself and any family or friends you might be on the river with to take this class. We learned how to navigate class III rapids effectively as a swimmer, various rope rescue techniques, mechanical advantage systems, and 'live bait' methods of rescue, where the rescuer clips into a line and is belayed down to a victim by a partner or a team onshore. Top notch instruction from Blair, Brent, and Justin.

Blair and his crew are absolutely first rate. Our entire experience was fantastic from the booking process until we returned to our car after the trip.We did a day trip to SKYKOMISH RIVER and it was perfect. The guides made great meals, were great with the kids (ages 9 and 14) and were more then competent in handling the raft etc. We´re going to make this a yearly family routine. Visited July 2013

Just went on an Inflatable Kayaking Trip down the Skykomish River. Had a great time! Our guides Justin and Roy went over everything before we even hit the water and then gave us practice time before we moved out into the main part of the river. I'd never been kayaking before but I felt safe going out with those guys. I plan on more trips with OAC!

I have had kayaked with OAC before, which was a nice experience (separate review for that), but here I am to even out the rating by mentioning that I have been trying to reach them for several days now, leaving several messages for them to call me back, not able to use their website for the inquiry that I'd like to ask them about, have written on their FB wall to ask further.... and still deadly quiet! How are they able to do business if can't bother to answer a couple of questions? There are a lot of competition, I think I'm now just done with OAC :(

This is 90 minutes great way to spend with kids or your significant other! Right in the middle of urban area (Woodinville - Redmond) a nice outdoor activity. We have seen a lot of birds: herons, bald eagles, ducks and geese. Our guides Molly and Kaitlyn were very helpful and graceful.

If you are in Seattle this is a great day trip and escape from the city. My experience at the Outdoor Adventure Center During my time on the North Fork and the Main river was a great experience. I not only learned the very basics of rafting but about the surrounding area of index. It was clear from the beginning the high amount of knowledge the guides had. The guides make sure participants are all wearing the right gear and have all of the safety knowledge prior to getting into the boats. Inevitably there is risk and danger involved with rafting, however both of my trips were filled with laughter and because of the guides I felt safe. As for the facilities it is clear things are kept clean and organized. Additionally I was lucky enough to go out on the most beautiful sunny day making the water feel as refreshing as it looked from the boat. I would recommend this company to a person of any age or ability. The people here are so friendly and you are sure to want to come back again.

You have to go whitewater rafting when you're in Seattle. We used Wave Trek and they were great. It's only an hour from Seattle. Our guide was very entertaining and he had us do all kinds of tricks on the raft. He gave us our money's worth. They also have the best lunch (steak bbq'd to perfection--they did a better job than some steak restaurants). They provide you with everything, including wet suit, booties, and life jackets. You just need to bring your swimsuit and a towel.
