So many beautiful views of the ocean and great 92 site camping area. Big park for the kids and plenty of open space for actives. Camp with views of the ocean. A perfect outdoor weekend getaway.

Hard to complain about this site; there's historical features, trails, scenic water views, large football sized recreation fields, kids playground, BBQ pits, etc. This is an understandably popular park and apparently packed during summer months. Local fishing creeks, lakes, as well. So, bring your fishing gear too!As for fees, check with the park's website for camping fees, not all sites are overnight either. And, during the winter months there was no charge getting driving into the park itself.

Every campsite is awesome. Amazing views of the water. Clean and well cared for. Great tidepools for beach-combing and terrific playground for the kids. Exploring the historic military aspects of the park are also interesting. This is a truly wonderful place.

Low tide corresponded with sunrise when we were there. All sorts of little starfish, anemones, and snails to be found. The tide pools were about 50 yards from our campsite. Walking out on the rocks was a little challenging so have good footwear if you intend to venture out. Time window of the pools in low tide are short, so plan ahead if you want to see marine life.

Salt Creek became our favorite after staying there in November. Lovely campsites and a fabulous beach. We drove in and immediately a Bald Eagle soared over our RV. The beach is rough but very interesting due to the rocks and tidal pools. Nice trails. Watch for surfers even in winter, fun watching! There are a few campsites right on the bluff overlooking the water. We only had one neighbor further down the row. If you have not been it is a must see, what a little gem.

So lucky to have Salt Creek as part of our local county park system! We've lived here over 20 years and been here many times, sometimes for just an afternoon and sometimes for a weekend of camping. Salt Creek never fails to disappoint. Wonderful views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca from most campsites. Terrific tide pools to explore.

Hiking and beach area available. Areas well marked. Easy hiking, not too hilly. Old artillery bunkers. Neat area. Great to picnic in warmer weather.

We love this great camp area overlooking the straits of Juan de Fuca having the first come first serve hookup sites all year long is a tremendous benefit when you don't have time to make a reservation. This is a great place for a family outing because of the beach and trails and play area for young kids. It is very dog friendly as well

I looked on trip advisor before going on this trip. I was excited to see live starfish or other sea life. I made it there it was still high tide and had to wait for water to recede. Then took the slippery walk out to the end. I was not lucky enough to see a starfish or other life instead lots of shells. I was though lucky enough not to slip and one of the most amazing picture to date from this trip :)

We were so happy to find this beautiful park located on the Strait of Juan de Fuca. We were initially concerned that we wouldn't be able to find a site large enough for our 45 foot motorhome. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find several sites that would accomodate us (the pull thru sites 33-39). They are a bit narrow but more than long enough. We ended up using a fire pit on a tent site across from us as our fire pit was under our slide. Except for the lack of cell and internet coverage, this place is almost perfect. We were there after the camping season had slowed down so it was very quiet. The views of the strait cannot be beat. We loved getting up in the morning with a cup of coffee and watching all the ships - when it wasn't foggy! Even when it was foggy it was fun to listen to the fog horns. Viewing the tide pools and surrounding islands is almost surreal. We had a hard time leaving and would definitely return.

We arrived at high tide, so we weren't able to see many of the tide pools, but the rest of the facility was gorgeous, well maintained and well worth the drive. What we *could* see of the tide pools were wonderful!

Do you like a sandy beach, awesome tide pools and hiking? This place has everything. Highly recommended for families of all ages. Tons of wild life, starfish, sea urchins, deer, eagles, otters. Camp on the bluff with a small walk down to the beach.

We had started planning our fall camping trip a little late, so we were not able to book a site in advance due to the cumbersome mail-in procedure currently in place. Fortunately by mid-September the crowds had thinned out and we were able to secure a spot. The good news is that starting January 2015 sites can be booked on line with a credit card. This will be a huge improvement. The campsite is in a truly beautiful location, with many of the sites offering expansive views over the Strait of Juan de Fuca. However, most of the sites do not afford much privacy. The facilities are first rate, with a well-equipped playground and even a basketball court. Lots of opportunities to get close to nature, with extensive tidepools easily accessible from the campsite, hiking trails etc.. We will be returning to this place for sure.

Just a relaxing scenic drive...just watch out for deers crossing the road. Try to take all the back roads you won't see many cars.

Unfortunately on our first try to visit, the park was closed because of a run going on. It was well worth waiting until the next day to visit. The views are amazing and it isn't everywhere that you can look down in the water and see a Fried Egg Jellyfish!
