This remarkable historic site is important to our history and should be maintained, but it's not. The grounds are small with some interesting monuments to see. The visit only takes 30 minutes. Stop if you're in the area.

The battlefield grounds look peaceful today but Eutaw Springs was one of the bloodiest battles of the Revolutionary War. We visited because my husband's great-great-great-great-grandfather was one of the North Carolina militia who fought in the Battle of Eutaw Springs. He was severely wounded that day although he recovered and lived a long life. This battle marked the end of the British hold on the South to the extent that when Cornwallis later surrendered at Yorktown, American independence was won.

Nice little park on the shore of Lake Marion paying tribute to the Revolutionary War battle that took place near by. The battle was the last confrontation to take place in SC . Several info signs are around the property describing the battle that took place in 1781. The grave of a British officer has been place on the grounds as well. It's a quiet park. A few benches are near the lake shore. A good place for history buffs like myself who like to explore/learn history. I believe The Palmetto Trail travels by this park.
