You just can't put words to describe this event. We rode last July, but are driving on this trip. Would be unconsolable if we came South and did not visit this fantastic memorial. We know that each visit will unfold new items and see things that were missed prior. It would take a solid week to maybe absorb half of what is actually in this museum. The entire team at this facility is dedicated to make your visit leaving with memories and wanting to return, because you know you missed alot. Give a "hear hear' to the entire team!!!!!!!!!
I loved the place. There was so much to see. The motorcycles were awesome. I would recommend taking some time to enjoy this place.
This is a wonderful look back in time.I never knew there were so many kinds of motorcycles. Easy to spend 3 or4 hours just enjoying.
You better plan on spending all day, or two, and maybe even three to take it all in. The exhibits are just awesome and sure to please any history buff. Will definitely be back to see what's new!
My husband wanted to go here, and I was not as interested. But, when I got here to see all of exhibits, I did enjoy it so much. We have been there only once and are planning to go back again on out next trip to NC.
When curator Dale Walsker saw us looking at a 1917 Harley-Davidson with sidecar, he quipped "Want to hear it run?", giving it a hefty kick-start boot. In minutes he had the machine outside, my daughter in sidecar,me on the back as of we went off down Main Street in a cloud of exhaust smoke. Dale has HUNDREDS of fab motorcycles, Indians, Harley s, Traub -one of kind that one - and more. Old time motorcycle workshop from a defunct dealership circa 1930, Evel Knievel's bikes and more. Best of all is the friendliness of the staff and fantastic variety if exhibits. Don't miss it!
I was in Maggie valley this weekend and had hoped to visit this brilliant museum again but it's closed until April. What a shame because even for the non motorbiking enthusiast it's a thrill. Allow two hours and be ready for a sensory overload as you walk around - great for all ages too.
Very nice! We drove up and we're met by a gentleman who informed us that they were closed but since we had come so far he would let us look around. Very nice museum worth your time!
This place is fantastic! All the bikes are well displayed. I've never seen so many antique bikes in one place. This is a must see! All of the employees as well as the owner are very nice and take time to answer questions.
All American is the way to describe it. So many motorcycles from years gone by and names we never heard of before. Common denominator is that they are all brands that lived and throived in the USA. AND... THEY ALL RUN!Truly an amazing place. Dale and Matt Walksler have turned their passion into a great TV Show on Velocity TV about "Barn Finds" Even if you are not a motorcycle rider or enthusiast... the history of USA motorcycles is worth the visit.
What a treat for the motorcycle enthusiast . The owner Dale goes the extra mile to showcase motorcycles from it's begining's. Life like exhibits in a spacious venue.
We once visited a much earlier iteration of this museum when Dale Walksler had a Harley shop in Mount Vernon, IL. Later our town was one of the overnight stops for the Great American Race and we met up with and talked to the rider of his antique motorcycle entry. And we've seen Dale several times in Daytona. But this iteration keeps improving, puts vehicles into their historical place, unlike those museums that just line them up and don't interpret at all. Thinking about the big museum in Birmingham England as an example of that.Great stop for great stuff!
If you love bikes, this place is not to be missed. Each vintage bike is in a little "setting" of the period, and incredibly, the ALL run. This makes other motorcycle museums seem feeble indeed.Plan to spend at least 2-3 hours here.
A unique collection of nice old motorcycles displayed very well. A nice way to spend an afternoon. You may have seen them on one of the "Picker" TV shows.
If you like antique motorcycles and cars then you will love this place! The owner is usually on site to start any machine you like and is frequently found riding around the grounds on one of the antique motorcycles found in his collection. It is wonderful!
