I wasn't expecting such a large herd. Very cool place. There is a tour you can take but since we had 11 people with us the cost was a bit high so we didn't take it. Just walking the park was interesting and they have a gift shop. The people are obviously very knowledgeable about the herd.

Recently attended a Women's Leadership Training Seminar at the Buffalo Preserve. It's located in the Northeast corner of Indiana near Angola. Driving onto the property was a step into tranquility and openness. Stayed in a beautiful log cabin lodge owned and built by John who also served as our "personal chef". Enjoyed the very best in culinary delights everyday with breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked by John and Stacy and served by a very gracious staff. The leadership training was done with the many horses on the ranch. Had a private tour of the bison estate by Nathan who drove us all "up close and personal". The preserve is private and very secluded. Cell phone reception was minimal but the whole 3 day experience was "monumental"! The lodge serves as a bed and breakfast with reservations and has a gift shop on site. All in all, it was a wonderful experience for me. Loved getting away from the hectic lifestyle of city and work to quiet the mind and body and reflect upon a more peaceful way of life. It's worth checking out. The bison are awesome and abundant! We were told that John has a restaurant in Bryant, Ohio called "Father John's" (also includes a brewery). It's an old church he bought and renovated into this fantastic eatery. Hope to try it out someday. If it's anything like the preserve it will be worth the trip. Five stars for the Preserve! An experience I'll cherish forever.Mary M.Hobart, IN

We were the only ones on the ride (it was almost closing time) into the Buffalo pasture. Our guide took time and answered ALL our questions. We then stopped in the café and had a Buffalo Burger, yummy!!

Our day at Wild Winds turned out to be a beautiful surprise. Not only was John, the owner, a wonderfully knowledgeable guide, he was also as kind and present as the bison we had the privilege of meeting. We had the opportunity to see a herd of over 200 majestic bison of all ages, including mothers with calves. These happy and healthy animals were aware of us and yet undisturbed by our presence. Seeing these amazing animals in such a natural and caring environment was truly an wonderful experience. Following the tour, John allowed us to check out the B&B lodge which was serene and lovely. We're already hoping to plan a weekend getaway to this peaceful bison-filled retreat. Thank you Wild Winds for this beautiful surprise experience.

My family and I visited after a friend suggested we look into the ranch. Everyone on the ranch was very friendly. The tour was exciting and informative. We learned a lot from our guide. There is a lot to learn and look at on the grounds. Tours are every hour on the hour. Be sure to call to find out what days they are open. They are not open every day of the week.Beware... There are bathrooms but they are out-houses!We actually got to ride into the heard of buffalo while they were grazing. They came right up to our truck and put their noses through the slats on the trailer we were sitting in. Our 4yr old was ecstatic! He asked all kinds of questions and learn a bunch. It's something he will never forget. This is a definite must for your family, especially if you don't get the chance to travel out west to Yellowstone National Park. I have been out west and this adventure with the buffalo was just as fun, if not more educational.

Really neat place in small town Indiana. Took entire family, had a private tour up close to these incredible beasts. Herd is approximately 180 heads of buffalo. Beautiful property, nice gift shop, extremely nice staff!

I really enjoyed it and found it interesting thought the babies were sooo cute. but didn't feel like purchasing the meat after I saw the animals in person.

They are on 426 acres with about 250 animals in the summer. They have about 60 - 80 cafes a year. These animals in the wild usually only live to 16. The oldest one they have is 20. They have two breads at their location. They also have horses, two styles of accommodations, and a place to eat.

Heard about this place, and decided to stop by on a Sunday afternoon and check it out. Good decision on our part! Very peaceful preserve. So pretty with the vineyards and nice landscaping. We climbed in a truck and went right out into the herd. Our tour guide gave a wonderful and informative presentation and answered all kinds of questions. Nice gift shop. They have a bed and breakfast, and you can even reserve a teepee for the night! My teenagers were even glad we stopped.

My sister and I were looking for something "different" to do. Found this online and after reading through website deciced it looked very interesting. That was an understatement! As we drove down the access road we say the herd. It took our breath away. Like a snapshot out of time! We ended up being the only guests the night we stayed and it took a while to get used to the quiet and peacefullness of the property. But the lodge is really spectacular. I guarantee it will be the nicest "cabin" you will ever stay in.The taxidermy alone is worth the trip. The property is so gorgeous. The true gem of the trip though is the Bison Tour. An hour ride in an open vehicle right into the middle of the herd. Close enough to reach out and touch, but respectful of the rules of the guide and the majesty of the animals. Loved it.

The food was great! I love that fact that the place has wine grapes all over the place. It was very relaxing and good place to visit for something different.

We love visiting Wild Winds, we visit every summer and every October. We love seeing the babies growing up, we have even gotten to know some of the Bison by site. The family the runs Wild Winds are nice and informative. Well worth the visit. Reasonably priced.

The ranch is a few miles from town and is decorated in native american style with large chrystals on property. The buffalo can be seen from the road. There is a gift shop and bed and breakfast, unique place

Enjoyed taking the wagon ride to the field where the buffalo were. Guests were encouraged to feed the buffalo out of their hand.

The only place I know in this region with a huge comfortable "bed & breakfast" lodge surrounded by a Federal licensed Buffalo Preserve, with guided tours out into the middle of a real buffalo herd close enough to touch. This is living history without having to "rough-it" at all. The staff do everything to please guests, it is inexpensive, plus they also have seasonal "themed events" there attracting many reinactors from historical groups. You should schedule a visit during one of the events for a really unique trip you won't forget.
