My son and I played the course after playing Erin Hills in the morning so maybe the rating suffers a bit from the comparison and the next morning we played Whistling Straits so.......The course was in excellent shape when we played and we got a twilight rate so it was a nice filler between some great golf. When I say I'm not sure of the type of course it is means that after three ok holes, you begin to play some interesting ones. The 4th was a par five that doglegs with little or no indication of which way it goes over the traps. We were able to play it again after seeing that it played far more to the left then it appeared. The next few holes in the woods/along the river were very good. I would love to have the golf ball concession on a few of these holes! The back nine was a blur and we packed in in after a few holes as we caught up to some foursomes who apparently planned to die on the course that day they were playing that slowly.I'm not sure I'd ever go back if I returned to play the new courses they're planning in Wisconsin. The Bull will lose even more play if Erin Hills opens another course, and they should or they too will be left behind in the Kaiser(Bandon Dunes) vs. Kohler(WS/BR) battle for golfers in this state and from around the world.

In the interest of full disclosure, I must say that I am generally not a fan of Jack Nicklaus golf courses -- often too tricked up, almost always too difficult for all but the lowest handicap players. The Bull is no different -- some holes are excellent, but there are others that make no sense -- irons off the tee followed by blind shots into elevated greens that are surrounded by trouble. Or...long irons into par 4's or par 5's that put you into a terrible position if you hit anything less than an excellent shot. Greens are in excellent shape, while the rest of the course suggests that the greenskeeper is working with an inadequate budget.

After 18 at whistling Straits in the morniong we decided to play 18 here. It rained the whole 18. Didn't matter to us. we were there to folf. The pro shop folks said the couse was full.. the starter said no problem. There was no one behind us as we easliy got on. Our foursome caught up to the group in front of us at the 3rd hole... we waited on them the entire round ( There was no one in front of them) ... 5 hours is way to long as we finished at 7:00 PM there was no one at the pro shop when we got in. Cart girl was a gem

The Bull is a challenging golf course in a beautiful setting. It is meticulously maintained and in excellent condition. The folks that work there are friendly and very helpful. The food was also excellent. It is a 3 hour drive from my home to get there or I would go there regularly. Instead I only go once a season.

A fun course with many decisions as to which way to approach the green as well as planning where and when to lay up for shorter hitting players. There are deep bunkers and stream crossings throughout the course to keep you on your toes. The greens especially are well protected with deep bunkers. There are quite a lot of elevation changes though out the course which only adds to the interest bad fun. I'm a high handicap player, but really enjoyed playing this course and did play to my handicap. The ladies tees do cut out a lot of water and marsh shots that the men have to hit over.

The only Jack Nicklaus course in Wisconsin. Great track! Well manicured. #77 public course nationally. Greens we're in great shape. True roll. Great value considering 4 courses nearby that command a very large green fee.

My three girlfriends and I golfed "The Bull" on a Friday in June. Everyone who worked for the course was very friendly and wanted us to have a "good time". Which we did! We were a little slow and allowed a twosome to play through. The ranger asked us to play a little faster, have a good time and not allow anyone to play through as it backs things up. We got slowed down more when the cart girl showed up as she had to write down our drinks. Our only negative for the course were the 4 members playing behind us. They didn't ask to play through and when we finished we saw them at the clubhouse where three of them were quite angry and rude in their tone and actions. One of them said " it doesn't take much to let someone play through". I explained that the ranger told us not to do that. But that didn't cut any ice with him. If the members of "The Bull" don't want the aggravation of slower players they should make it a private course open only to certain handicaps. However I don't think they would want to have their membership dues increased by the hundreds of dollars we spent there in the two rounds we played. Maybe we just got unlucky and most of the members appreciate players from out of town. I would hope so.

Have been here many times for holidays, weddings, and golf. The grounds are beautiful and the golfing is nice. The food, however, leaves a bit to be desired. The ambiance makes up for it somewhat, but if you're attending a function, you might want to grab a bite to eat somewhere else beforehand.

I have played the Bull at Pinehurst Farms several times with my 50/50 card.It is a very challenging course set in the Sheboygan area which has many excellent courses. Its variety brings a challenge to every hole and the tee boxes allow anyone to play there, from the very low handicapper to the higher handicapper. Go on the website to check the prices.

Nice meal, great service, nice views from the bar. They close a bit early most evenings. Would visit again.

I was here for a wedding in July. The atmosphere was very fancy and elegant, the food was very tasty, and the staff was pleasant. This is a great option for weddings and events.

We stopped here a few years ago and came back on Prime Rib and BBQ Rib night. My wife had a chicken salad and I opted for the Prime Rib. In hindsight, I should have chosen the ribs. The beef was a little tough and not prime. But the space was charming and cozy and we never felt rushed.

A challenging golf course which I survived!! Also, great food at very reasonable pricing. Most of the locals consider this one of the best loc!!al restaurants, with lots of great menu selections. Try their "10 for 10" selections

I was excited to play a Jack Nicklaus course and it was what I would have expected. Very challenging with every aspect of your game. GPS carts help alot because theres lots of blind shots. The only problem I seen was the greens could have been in a little better shape. They had lots of small bumps in the greens which added an extra challenge. You should try it at least once.
