$6/adult gains you entrance to either the elevator or stairs to the top of the tower. We needed to work off Thanksgiving indulgences and opted for the stairs. It was a relatively clear day and the 360' view was fabulous. The tower's history is less about Washington and more about the park employees. The gentlemen in the ticket booth will share their knowledge if you take the time to ask. We have visited in all seasons with out of town guests. The next stop was at the Tavern at the base of the hill to warm up with a brew. A nice little afternoon outing. For those interested in more history, continue the trip to Washington's Crossing.

Starting when I was old enough to drive, back in 1956, I visited The Tower every few years until I began moving around the country and the world. Recently, I went back after a 30 year hiatus and what a change! First, I was delighted to find that an elevator had been added. The climb to the top was never that bad (at least for my younger self), but much appreciated now. The biggest changes were in the views from the top. Where there were forest canopies almost everywhere, there are now housing developments, with nicely groomed lawns and common areas and walking paths. There are new buildings on the far southern horizon and new clusters of stores and other commercial buildings closer by. The new safety railing makes picture-taking a little more difficult and doing a video pan impossible. But in spite of these minor annoyances, the tower still provides a breathtaking panorama of the central Bucks County river area and is well worth a visit.

Worth the trek up to the tippy top! It's breathtaking this time of year for the foliage. Definitely bring a camera!

I have been coming here since I was a little kid, and I mean little kid. The views are amazing and I can almost hear my uncles talking and laughing as I look out over the views. Fall is my favorite time to come here, but its great winter, spring or summer also.

Located between New Hope and the Wash Xing Park, Bowman's Stone Tower commemorates the lookout hill Gen Washington used prior to launching his famous Xmas Eve Crossing of the Delaware River. Hike up and climb up the steps; wonderful long distance views of the valley.

While this isn't actually a historic site it is close enough to them to make sure you visit it. The tower has a view of the surroundings that is beautiful year round but spectacular in the fall with the colorful foliage. There is now an elevator which makes the climb minimal except for the last 30 steps or so. Distaining the elevator, the hike up the steps let my calves know the climb was not appreciated. The guys in the ticket booth were very friendly.

123 steps up so good exercise.....pretty view but over and done quick.......It is worth the time as the view is really very pretty. If you are claustaphobic...not so good.

For a number of years I have driven by the entrance to this Pennsylvania Historic Site; however, have never stopped by to see it. Upon arrival to the site, I could not help but notice I was the only visitor. I think the reason is simple - people do not know about the site. The site is manned by one staff member. I would expect that the person who works this site would have knowledge and care about the site; however, that was far from the case. It was evident that this person did not want to be at the site and was simply doing his job - taking $6.00 for the admission fee. After paying the admission fee, I was granted access to the tower. You have the option of taking an elevator or climbing the stairs to the top. I will say this note here, while it has an elevator, it is not ADA accessible. Once you arrive at the top, you are required to walk up a tight, steep flight of stairs. Unfortunately, if you are not in good shape and don't have good balance, it is hard to make it to the top. At the top of the tower, you have an unobstructed view of the entire valley. You can see two states - Pennsylvania and New Jersey. There is a view of several small towns along the Delaware River. I agree with others, this site can be impressive when the leaves are changing in the fall. This site is a monument and is in need of repairs. At the top, it is evident that there is a termite problem. I arrived just after rain and there were numerous termites all over the site. The site needs basic updates that includes a renovation if the elevator, painting of the safety steps, and upgraded handrails. Also, at one time there were sign that displayed what you were looking at - those are now gone. I am more than happy to pay $6.00 to gain admission to this site - as long as it is going to support much needed repairs. It is doubtful as it is evident these repairs have been needed for some time.

Stunning views from top of tower. Admission fee $6 a person. I'd say it is worth it especially in the fall. Really did not explore park as it was getting late and wanted to check out other things in the area.

Growing up in NJ summer was not summer unless you went to Bowman's tower and climbed to the top....the history is amazing but the park is more so...relaxing, fun, hiking trails and more ... take a picnic lunch and blanket and relax with a good book

It is very beautiful and total wort it - 5 min away from New Hope. Stairs a bit still, but elevator is working- if you prefer to get on the top easier. Wonderful experience!

Beautiful location. The panoramic view of Bucks County and the river from the tower is great if you go on a clear day.

Bowman's Hill Tower offers a beautiful view of the surrounding country and river! I would definitely recommend going during the fall because the hills are brilliant reds, oranges, and golds, although I'm sure it would be pretty any time of the year.

You can walk to the top of the tower, which you often have to do when the elevator doesn't work. Really nice view from the top. Combine this visit with a trip to Washington Crossing park.
