the red house interpretive center

This is a replica of the original house/trading post that was owned by the founder of Cape Girardeau in the 18th century and was visited by Merriweather Lewis in 1803. The docent there was very informative and her tour cost $3.

Our visit to the Red House Interpretive Center was the highlight of our day in old Cape Girardeau. For $3 per adult, you can take a brief but very informative tour with the docent.It's a great value and really should be promoted more by the CG tourism folks.
