Refurbished military vehicles, uniforms, displays, and information about local citizen soldiers. Staff helpful. worth the nominal admission fee.
Thank you for coming to our Museum. We all are volunteers and try our best to please everyone. We are so glad you enjoyed the visit. Yes, we don't look like much from the outside but take a 1/2 hour and step into our world and you will enjoy it (WE HOPE)! Thanks for coming by.
This place has a lot to see! I took four little ones and they enjoyed it as well. I've already had to promise a return visit. We will be back!
Thank you for your visit, we are very glad you enjoyed our Museum. Thank you also for your rating. You can also follow us on Facebook - there is alot of information and pictures on Facebook which you may enjoy. Please come and see us again if you are in the area. We will have an open house (donation requested) on the Saturday after Veteran's Day. If you are interested call the Museum just in case we do it the Saturday before Veteran's Day.
Thank you for visiting our Museum, we are very proud you took the time out to see what we have to offer. We love having children have hands-on with some of the displays. Please come back to see us again. We do birthday parties for children also. Everyone gets a tour and dogtags. It's a really fun thing for them and the parents!
Thank you for coming to the Museum - we are working on the outside of the building and realize it is NOT the best looking. We are run by volunteers and money from admissions and donations. At times it is very hard. We truly hope you enjoyed your visit and viewing the history we have in our Museum. THANK YOU AGAIN.
Thank you for your review, we are trying to up date the outside - since we are all volunteers it is hard to do. We are always looking for some new blood to join us at monthly meetings and activities. We are so glad you visited with us. I was in the 250th Sig Bn NJARNG. THANK YOU.
Thank you for your visit - we are so glad you stayed and enjoyed everything we offer. Do please come back, have a great 4th of July.
Smaller, all-volunteer operated museum. Great collection of "most" of the military conflicts the US forces were involved. Good side-trip when you're in the Southwest (Springfield) MO area, practically right-on I-44 highway. Much to read, if you have more time. Hands-on was a real plus, AND you can enter most of the vehicles, with permission, getting "the real feel" of our veterans that protected our freedom through the many decades.
visited museum and it was great. I felt it was a great value for the money. Learned a lot about the military and planes.
Amazing how many different types of aircraft and military relics they have here. Even if you are not a pilot or veteran I think you will find this a very interesting stop when in the area.
I'm sorry there were fumes, we do have alot of work to do on the vehicles. Since we are only volunteers we have to work when they are available. We do appreciate your input. We are sorry if you thought the place was dirty, again we are trying very hard to keep the history alive. Thank you for coming and we hope you come again.
Mostly diorama, but there are interesting things to see.In the back there are some things that are interesting to see, such as the ammo, grenades, that you can pick up an look closely. The owner did a good job of talking about the 'hands on' objects.Depending on the number of people currently touring, he can provide interesting information about the collection. If you just plan to walk around and read or view, you can do it in under 30 minutes.Kids enjoyed the hands on trying out the old typewriters, the motto what's old is new seems to fit well here.
Our son is so eager to learn more about this era. We appreciated the tip found here on TA from other reviewers and decided to check it out during our recent trip to Springfield. From the outside, we were hesitant. But 'lots of cool stuff' from our son once we were inside. He loved the hands-on approach and the chance to hear more history from the owners. His favorite part was getting to see the old jeeps, the old ground vehicles they'd drive in the war, and the military helicopter. He thought it was cool, different from other museums, to get to hold a grenade replica and an AK47. We appreciated the offer to help explain more and such a great opportunity to learn more about history in this way.
I didn't go in, I waited in the car while my husband took the kids in. He stated the inside is nicer looking then the outside, it looks smaller on the outside then it really is. You do have a opportunity to get in a cobra helicopter and jeeps. They spent about 30min looking around.
