Great experience of a HBCU's home coming events demonstrating brotherhood and bonding between the university and community!

There is a lot of security, fences, and barricades. Obey all rules including speed limits. That said, this campus is filled with gorgeous buildings. What looked like a covered bus shelter was really a lovely monument to president Lincoln. I couldn't see it all in one trip so I plan to go back. The museum is free. The parking is free also, but you need to get a pass from security.

Visited Hampton to specifically see the Emancipation tree! It is a beautiful campus with a lot of history!

No dislikes If I had a child I would definitely send him or her there.Historical Value is a plus in my book. Pretty campus, seems easy to get around and has a great view.

During the visit - the campus has rich history. Many of the Class rooms still have Chalk Boards. Old vs new Class room style rooms and equipment, along with the dorms. The Food is over priced, but I guess they need it make up for getting to modern times. Research All Options and visit all potential class room and dorms areas you plan to attend.

A beautiful old university on the Hampton River. The grounds were meticulously groomed. The Clock tower has never been replace and is in excellent condition. I would have like to have gone in the church on campus but time was not with us. Maybe next time.

The overall city is a nice place to visit. I love the shopping area and finding a place to eat wasn't a problem. My overall trip was nice

Love my "Home by the Sea!" The 35th Class Reunion was superfantastic. Big fun, rich fellowship, good food and lots of memories.

We stopped by Hampton University to visit the football team and coaches. I didn't realize it could be a lesson in history for my children as well. The Emancipation Oak, Booker T. Washington statue, Circle of Nations, and story of W.E.B Du Bois were a perfect addition to our homeschool history lesson. The downside: The grounds were not well maintained considering school will be back in session soon. The kids weren't thrilled about this stop, but only because they are kids and most are not thrilled by history yet.

It is summer so the University was not open for touring. However, I walked the grounds and gave myself a tour of the property. I must say that Hampton University is in a prime location and the grounds of this University are absolutely beautiful and clean. It was serene and pleasant for me to just walk the premises. The University offers historic buildings as well as modern buildings. For any student considering Hampton University as a college pick I would certainly explore the campus, if I were you.

it is what it is. The campus is rather crowded and the place seems to be crowing out of its surroundings. It is starting to take over buildings downtown Hampton. I am not sure that is good or not. You never see these college kids like you do at other campuses. NOt sure why. I dont know what the rating is of those who graduate here. Very different than most Universitys I would say.

The day started off damp and wet but ened up being the perfect day to spend outside learning more about my DS's new "Home By The Sea."

Situated on the coast, the campus was lovely to behold. The Hampton museum is a hidden treat that features timeless, impeccable and priceless pieces that leave you slack-jawed. Go!

We beat GA who we were playing, and had a reception for our line that crossed the burning sands 25 years ago + the new sorors and past sorors. It was really great. It wasnt great only that Sandy was coming and it was pouring outside!

I remember when this was Hampton Institute. This pretty University is located on Hampton Creek just across from the City of Hampton. Is has really grown in the past years and is expanding today. Many good students have come from this school, Olympians also. This school has alot of history to include that it is the birthplace of Acapella Music. Good stop and near Air and Space Museum and one of 150 wooden merry-go-rounds left in the US. Also near Hampton History Museum, hotels, and great restaurants.
