dogwood trace golf course

We happened upon this course on our way north from Charleston. Their club house currently is a mobile unit with beautiful plans for a new structure in their future. The staff was very helpful and offered directions. Unfortunately we were coming in behind a tournament. We were assured that they would be almost finished their round and we wouldn't catch up with them. Wrong. We caught up with the last on the 10th hole. After extended delays we headed back to the clubhouse after 12. The course is beautiful, with older trees and beautiful greens. It's a shame we didn't get a chance to finish...we may go back.

Great course. From tee to green course in very good condition. Forgiving fairways, but nice imagination to layout. Front nine gets you warmed up for tighter fairways back. Water on back nine but for the most part not really in play. Worth the drive down from Richmond and will play again soon.

This little hidden gem in Petersburg Va. Is a must play. The course is in great shape and is well maintained. It is open to the public. The greens are true and fast. The fairways let you go down for it. They currently are working on a clubhouse. So look out.

We played most recently in the Lions club tournament on May 2 The course was in great shape and the staff are most helpful Since this course is owned and operated by the city of Petersburg it does not have an ABC license This may be a deterrent to some, but don't let it be This is a little gem just waiting to be discovered.
