Not much to see; the Lavender Festival is poor at best. Bad road for entry; a lot of dust and dirt; and in general it is not a good experience. When the "Festival" is on, the vendors are few and quality is less.

This is a great day trip from DFW. Even when the lavender is not in bloom, there are flowers everywhere. If you can, get out there in May during their annual Lavender Festival. Shopping, flowers, food and fun! But any spring, summer or fall weekend it is a perfect place to spend a leisurely Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Try the lavender chicken salad on the screened in back porch. Or sit a spell on the vintage metal glider while you have a glass of lavender iced tea on the front porch of the shop. This is southern girl heaven. If you are in driving from Dallas swing through Denison and check out the antique shops; from Fort Worth there is some good antiquing in Gainsville.
