Nice lake to fish and deft great sights.. It was just opened to the public recently used to be private and book only.. The residents of Cody were deft happy when it was made public.. It's a great place for the family

I just returned to Wisconsin after making a delivery to monster lake. While there the hospitality was awesome. We had a light breakfast and a super bag lunch to take with us on our return trip. We viewed the lakes and surrounding countryside. It was beautiful and breathing. The fishing looks wonderful and the pheasant hunting will be exellent as the birds look healthy and vibrant. The lodge is beautiful and Dave and his wife were wonderful hosts.

Monster Lake Ranch is a work in progress. There are many plans in the development of this property. When I called about the trail rides, I expressed some concern about the two hour trail ride. We were taking our eight year old grandson. We were appreciative that they agreed to do a one hour trail ride. Monster Lake Ranch is located approximately ten miles south of Cody. The ride on the Cowboys and Indians Trail seemed very authentic as we rode out in the high desert prairie.

This is the first review I've ever chosen to write. In general my time is too valuable to me to spend it writing a review of a travel spot. Monster Lake Ranch is an exception because of the wonderful time my family had there. My wife, I, and our 5 year old son spent 4 nights in an immaculate and well furnished 2 bedroom cabin for a very good rate. A real breakfast was made for us each morning, we were able to use a golf cart for short trips around the property, they have a eating/bar area that was a wonderful place to relax, and the staff was outstanding. (Huge thanks to Ted, Jim, and Mattie!) We took two guided horseback rides while we were there, my son caught his first fish (a 14-16" trout), we hiked, saw wildlife, and made new friends. My son even got his first crush on the owners young daughter. We plan to return in the future to spend a night at their cowboy camp on the rim rocks and enjoy more of the fun to be had at Monster Lake Ranch.

My wife went for a hike while I went for a horseback ride with the owner's wife and daughter. We rode up onto a beautiful bluff overlooking Monster Lake. No nose to tail ride for this outing. Everyone was extremely welcoming and the horses were well trained. A great time had by all!

This is the most amazing fishery i have ever been to. The fish are very strong and all 4lb plus.The new upgrades were amazing and the hospitality was first class. If you are looking for trophy trout fishing with down home hospitality this is a must on your list.

We just got back from Monster Lake. The cabins were well appointed, clean, And had really nice furnishings. We went for a shooting school -had a blast. Dan the owner treats you like family. Ted & Dori & the rest of the staff were excellent. We're definitely going back. AFT Customs

Just got back from one of the most enjoyable trips ever! Have made many trips to Monster & this will not be the last….FAT,HEALTHY & MAD ( when stuck ) fish…..had 1 rainbow jump 9 times ! My buddy landed a 7-8 lb. Brown….his 1st fish no less. This is as great of destination for lake fishing as you can ask for….accommodations are fantastic…..hospitality from the management team was as good as it gets….would recommend this beautiful place to anyone that wants to catch big fish & have a very comfortable stay….can't wait to get back! Hopper season is coming…..

Just returning from a awesome weekend of fishing and hospitality. This was my 5th trip to Monster Lake but first under the new ownership. The cabins have all been up graded the new bar setting is unbelievable. Fish are as healthy as I have every seen them from this lake. This will be an annual trip .

Excellent! This is truly a one of a kind unique experience. The cabins are great. The fishing is second to none! Friendly people make u feel right at home!

This was the best most interesting trip I've ever taken I'm going back again!the fishing was amazing every time we caught a fish it was huge! The trail rides were so fun and interesting! Even the hunting was fun! The next day I wanted to go to the famous Cody Wyoming museum and I found out it was free with my room! Then we went to the famous Cody Wyoming night rodeo. It was different than any experience I've ever had it was awesome! Then we went to the barn where they have an amazing little girle that's only twelve but she has an amazing voice!

Three of us fished Monster Lake June 1,2, and 3, 2013. We caught Brook, Rainbow and Brown Trout up to 7#. We averaged about 25-30 fish each daily. Steve Barrett, Lake Manager and Guide, has all the flies and information needed to make it a great fishing trip. We will be back.
