We went toward the end of October, hoping to pick some of the last apples of the year. Unfortunately picking season was officially over, but we still got to buy bundles of the already-picked, late season varieties. If the act of picking apples is a dealbreaker for you, go before October hits. We walked up and down the empty grape vine and apple tree lanes, bough some apple donuts from their bakery (omg omg omg) and the stopped over at St. Croix Vineyards (right next door) for a wine tasting. Perfect fall day!

It was a great orchard located within an hour of the Twin Cities. Admission is free, but expect all of the food, activities, and apples there to cost you. The shop is quite cute and the staff is helpful. The tractor hayride is free as well! Enjoy!

We had made every weekend but two available and had it formally scheduled over 15 times, this was supposed to have been our Anniversary gift. Once he forgot to transfer our 'written appt' to the actual date and when i called the day prior, admitted he forgot to write it in, but did state he would upgrade the next flight to 'semi private'. Then after the nicest weekend in Sept, we did not go up, and he stated (Scott) that it was the first weekend day the balloon went up, which was not true and found out he went out on a weekend day in July. We requested once the season was done if we could then have a refund and he agreed. We were scheduled yesterday, October 18 and told him to leave us on the schedule to finish out the season, when he immediately mailed our money back at the beginning of October. This is all on documented email. We also saw the balloon went up yesterday, October 18, so we are very, very frustrated with customer service. We understand safety completely, however not being able to be offered the 'next' available flight for those who are waiting is frustrating and then the misrepresentations and finally not respecting our request to continue the original scheduled date of October 18 and immediately refunding when we asked to finish the season

We went on 10/16 this year during MEA weekend. They only had Harrelson apples and nothing else. The workers at the booth could not explain to me why nor offer if they had others for sale in side their store, etc. We reluctantly bought the bag ($10) to apple pick the harrelsons since I promised the kiddos. Rotten, small, and barely any worth putting in the bag. Came home with only 8 in the bag. Do not plan to return there.

And not too bad for the bigger kids too! Apple picking was done for the year when we visited, but we had plenty of pre-picked to choose from. Kids liked the face painting, hayride and hay maze. Fees for items - but didn't seem out of line from other orchards/fall activities we have seen. Apple brat was yummy!

We visited the orchard on a beautiful Fall Saturday. We got apples, pie, cobbler, and honey. While these items are always more expensive when purchased at an orchard the experience cannot be missed. There was fresh cooked kettle corn and grilled brats for sale too. Behind the apple barn, children could ride in little cars pulled by a tractor, go through a small maze or use pedal tractors. There is a petting zoo and we found the goats to thoroughly love kettle corn. They followed me trying to get more. There is also a hay ride. One can choose to pick your own for specifc apples.
