This arboretum is one of the many wonderful things to visit around Moscow. This is a lovely walk through a variety of plants. There are ponds and ducks and a variety of trails. The view from the arboretum is spectacular. I have seen school children there doing hands-on science.

I have watched the arboretum develop over the years, and the spectacular variety of species - is almost a religious experience. I have been stunned by the beauty in every season. One of my favorites is Spring- the blooming crabs and ornamentals are heavenly- the ponds full of croaking and singing frogs and toads, the manicured green belts- One of the best attractions the campus has to offer. Bar none. I am writing this review in December, and I can honestly say despite the fact that I am not a winter person- the conifers covered with snow will make a believer out of anyone! Snowshoes are awesome after a couple of inches have fallen, and it's a great way to warm up- Don't forget the cocoa.

A well done blend of ponds, hills, trees, shrubs, birds, butterflies, trails, creeks and much more. Scenic views while you are walking in the valley and spectacular views of the rolling hills of Moscow and the U of I golf course. Tributes to many contributors. A living sanctuary for your mind and body.

loved walking through the park and seeing the different trees and plants from different countries, Really enjoyed the fall colors

Peaceful place to take a walk with two ponds and beautiful trees from many parts of the world. Well maintained, set on a hillside. Colors in the fall are splendid.

The arboretum was a beautiful break from the surrounding hills of wheat. The ponds and the wooded areas were very restful. The arboretum is arranged by geographical region

Wonderful, well maintained gardens. Plant, shrubs and mature trees are labeled. Many acres for a beautiful stroll thru the gardens.

The beauty of the Arboretum begins with the framing of the hills of the Palouse. Tucked in a little valley next to the golf course are 63 acres of trees, shrubs, flowers, plants, all beautiful, all well maintained. They are organized by region/continent, so if you stay at the top, you won't see the full variety. Walk on in! There are numerous trails, benches for reflection, wildlife, scenic views (you can see the Blue Mountains in Oregon)....a wonderful place for reflection, exercise, or anything. Some notes on the other reviews: For parking, there are spots in the golf course lot. You can park on the street in the summer no problem. There's also a dedicated lot at the south end if you want to do the Arb in reverse. No dogs are allowed, so leave them at home. This is an arboretum, not a dog park.Go and spend an hour, a day, however much you need at the Arboretum. It's a sould refreshing experience.

Beautiful spot to visit any time of the year. The don't allow you to bring your dogs; so, please leave them at home, or, in your room. Bring water and good shoes. Plenty to see in the arboretum and the distance.

Moscow, Idaho is not anything special as it's just a small university town, but its Arboretum is a pretty unique place. First, it's a wonderful park for those who walk for exercise with an almost a three-mile loop. It is also educational as while taking a pleasant walk, you get to know the names of different shrubs, trees and flowers from four continents. There are ducks in the ponds, bunnies crossing the trails and lots of beautiful birds around. If you are tired, there are plenty simply stone benches with insightful sayings by many people that contributed to this park. If you are a passer by or a visitor for a short time and want to spend an hour in the surrounding of beautiful nature, this Arboretum is the right place for you.

Finding parking was a bit of a challenge since it is on the campus. We had two staffers tell us during the summer months, okay to park in the purple zones even though they say permit required. We went ahead and parked there and did not receive a ticket. Upon leaving, we drove through the parking lot for Boogie's Restaurant next to the south entrance of the botanical garden. There are several parking spots designated for the gardens even though the entry sign says "Golf Patrons Only." Suggest driving through the lot to locate Garden Parking area.

Lovely Palouse scenery combined with a large variety of trees, shrubs and perennials. Strolling the U. of Idaho Arboretum is a wonderful way to spend some time in peace and quiet, enjoying the beauty around you. Wear good walking shoes , bring water and allow at least an hour or more for this experience. You'll want to stroll and savor the experience.

This is not the kind of place to just spend a few minutes. The walking trails are extensive and beautiful. The main trail is about 1/2 mile but there is so much to see off of the main trail that we ended up spending 3 hours here and could have spent more. Bring your cameras because the photo opportunities are endless. May was a beautiful time to come because many of the plants are in bloom. My favorite part was the lilac garden, fragrant and lovely. Most of the plants are labeled with their common and botanical names, I only wish there would have been a bit more information about the plants. If you are in Moscow the U of I Arboretum and Botanical Garden is a wonderful place to spend part or all of your day.

Loved reading the tree markers to learn more about the trees. Beautiful place for a walk or a run. So relaxing when the sun is setting!
